GGG is a much harder puncher. Just ask yourselves who's power you would rather take into a fight, quite simple really. All these people using buzz words like "dynamic' and "explosive" have no clue.
He probably has more power in his looping left and right hooks, but GGG can probably generate more power in short narrow punches and has a more powerful jab and harder body shots. Lemieux is the bigger man though, didn't he fail weight in the past? I think Lemieux should seriously consider a move to 168. His power would probably translate well and he could gain a slight speed and explosiveness advantage. I don't think he'll ever have what it takes to beat GGG at 160, he should try to snatch a title at 168 from someone like Chudinov who likes to exchange and welcome GGG there when he moves up.
Lemieux on true one-punch power hits harder but Golovkin has better timing, foot positionning to place his power shots and throws harder combos with both hands than Lemieux...Lemieux likes to double his left hook and come back with a right uppercut and works things out with hooks and uppercuts but Golovkin can bang with both hands more diversly and with an harder succession.
Maybe, in the same way that Cleveland Williams hit harder than Sonny Liston....but that meant nothing at all....same with Lemieux and GGG.
I wouldn't like to be hit by either of them. Its a shame Golovkin is smart and boxed him when they fought. A toe to toe battle between those two would have been good.
I think he does. That's why he has a highlight reel riddled with putting guys into a deep sleep. By now everyone is over it because he did it to a name fighter who hadn't been stopped for a decade other than the Golovkin fight obviously, and possibly the #2 fighter on his resume.
They're two different types of power, in execution. Golovkin doesn't express a style that makes for one shot KO's, in general unless the opening is completely there. Golovkin is P4P the bigger puncher.
The proof is in the pudding. Curtis got up off a GGG left hook no problem. A Lemmy left hook near put Curtis into a coma. And it wasn't even fully loaded either .
In my opinion he does. GGG finds his range a lot better though so actually lands the better punches. If you trade with Lemeiuex good chance u get flattened
