Man, thats why it's a big deal to be 345-5 as an amateur. You can't do that without rock solid fundamentals. 2x world champion and silver olympic medalist (world championship golds are harder than olympics in the amateur ranks don't forget)

It's not possible that the right hand of Gennady isn't in place while firing the left hook. Those Eastern Europeans drill these fundamentals as kids and they are programmed like robots as adults.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that!

Ref stepped back and was "Umm, one of y'all should have died."

True. That ref always makes that face. He should definitely get more appreciation for it though.

Great point, and you know that clip is a perfect example of what DL did wrong against Gennady. All he had to do is put that right hand up as he threw that hook and he would have blocked Golovkin's punch while landing his own. DL really mentally unraveled vs GG and I truly believe he's capable of beating GG in a rematch.

So almost in your world is GGG standing on both feet and then going after the guy after the punch landed?
    Like what is this?

He does but what also helps floyd is he seems to always be moving away from incoming shots. Its one of his most unappreciated and unmentioned skills.

Lemieux did not come anywhere near hurting Golovkin, not at all. It was a mismatch, Golovkin stopped Lemieux is an very good example of boxing..............

Lemieux shook Ggg with a Rt. hand 10 seconds before the fight was stopped. The ref stepped in to save Ggg's ass.

one of the best techniques ive ever seen in boxing ggg. sacrifices speed slightly for proper generating technically sound power punches. He punches down on peoples high guards, connecting with the top of the head like ive never seen before.. its second nature down to his long amateur career imo, well trained. He aint got long at the top though. 345 am fights + his pro career...

Haha that's Steve Willis. Fantastic referee. His facial expressions are mind boggling but he really is the best referee out there as far as I'm concerned.
