Was it just me anybody else notice how 'soft' and skinny...so unmuscular he was almost almost flabby David looked v Stevens? Has he changed his training regime?
That's how he's looked for a couple years now, been doing much different and more cardiovascular believe or not
When I saw him in the ring I feared for another Rubio scenario. But cardio never got into play in this one.
Not at all. Look at him as recently as the GGG fight...a lot more muscular. This is a new look for DL.
Lemieux always had trouble making the mw limit. Duran us to be the same with fighting. Later in his career he would look fit at the weigh in but by fight night he looked fat with no muscle definition.
He depletes a lot to make 160, and rehydrates a lot. With relatively narrow shoulders and a thicker midsection. He has always (to me at least) looked soft on fight night.

Boxers should be unmuscular. Muscles take a lot more oxygen. So when you see muscular fighters like JMM, Pacquiao (in later divisions), AJ, RJJ ... have speed and stamina, makes you wonder. (again I think everyone gets away with what they can) I think physiques like SRL, Hearns, DLH, Trinidad, Ali, McLellan, FMJ, Kovalev ... are ideal for boxing
you guys are hilarious with your excuses " duran, narrow shoulders, etc", he's fat and out of shape. He missed weight one year ago and the fight was called off. It ain't easy for him, but he's far too small to compete at SMW. if that was Canelo in there he would have just ripped that soft little belly and ended things around the 6th rd. Lemieux better have a 12wk camp and do what he's gotta do if he's going to keep on pursuing a championship.
