GGG has a long streak of not letting fights go to a decision. However if Jacobs changes that, what difference do we see in GGG in the championship rounds? Who do you think will be the better fighter by the 12th round?
I just can't see Jacobs taking Golovkin's shots for 12 rounds, no fugging way. Golovkin doesn't just work the head, he batters the body too, and late fight that will take its toll. Kovalev reckons Golovkin's stamina is exceptional having sparred with him, and in fact used the words "a machine" to describe him. The longer it goes, the more I favour Gena. I could however see Jacobs getting into a firefight early and landing some huge shots that finish Golovkin off. Either way this story is done before the 8th and I'm picking GGG with quite a lot of confidence.
I get that sometimes fights with two power punchers wind up going the distance for a myriad of possible reasons, but I just can't see that happening here.
It's unlikely really, but I don't think it'd change much. Look at the Murray fight in the 11th, his approach was the same
GGG gets hit and takes it, he'll get ripped on for his defense. He boxes conservatively, he'll get it for protecting a glass chin. Unfortunately for Danny, he gets beat by either approach IMO. I'd still pay damn good money to see Jacobs-Lemieux, though.
Very unlikely. Not just due to Jacobs' (lack of) punch resistance, but also due to Golovkin knowing what can happen if your US opponent somehow makes it to the final bell on US soil. I believe he will force the issue if Jacobs is still upright entering the 10th.
could happen I suppose but I am still gonna go to with ggg by late ko . hes just gonna wear him down by rounds 9-10-11
Murray was really, really tough in that one. He's got a good clamshell guard to begin with, and it seems to me that he was willing to go to hospital before saying no mas that night. I don't think Jacobs has that sort of constitution but what he does have that Murray didn't is a big punch. I suggest that he uses it while there's still snap in his shots.
