List Of Ppl Floyd Ducked

Dont get me wrong. Im not saying fighters should absolutely duck stylistic threats . I said I dont blame them for not wanting to challenge a stylistic threat .

Because at the end of the day, if you want to be considered the Absolute best then you should take on all comers no matter what .Lets make it clear Im not Encouraging fighters to duck each other.

As a floyd fan this is the only fighter i think he avoided

 

That fight made sense, and I know I wanted to see it. I think Martinez with his size, speed, footwork and southpaw stance, could of been the first guy to come close to out slicking Floyd in the ring. That would have been a closely contested bout right there.

Thats the one guy till this day that i am 100% convinced wouldve beaten Floyd if theyd fought. Sergio wouldve been an absolute nightmare. I think they couldve had a great trilogy as i think Floyd wouldve got him in a rematch and likely in the third fight as floyd wouldve had him figured out by then. This is the type of stuff that turned me against floyd. avoiding fighters,retiring to avoid more fights and finally running from Pac for 5 years because he was afraid for his health.

 

I personally think he ducked the following

1. Rematch Oscar.
2. Mosley lightweight.
3. Paul Williams
4. **** scared of Margarito.
5. Winky Wright.

Then he also had a few near misses like Tsyzu.

 

He didn't duck anybody. You could say in an ideal world great scalps that were pretty possible weight/time wise, not always promotion/positioning wise, would have been guys like Casamayor, Freitas, Kostya, and Bradley. That seems reasonable to say, but still didn't "duck" those guys. We're talking about a guy who has tons of scalps of number 1 and top 10 ranked guys in a division... Winky Wright and Amir Khan were actually the guys who he repeatedly mentioned and in some loose way negotiated with, but I don't think it's an issue to not face the champ from 4 divisions north and a guy with paper chin.
