I would give the edge to Marciano for power, his right was harder than Frazier's left imo.Marciano had very good power in his hook too.It depends if you think Fraziers greater speed wins the day, imo.

Marciano had power similar to Dempsey and Louis.... two fisted one punch ko power.

Frazier really only had his left hook. To my knowledge not only did he never ko an opponent with his right hand he never knocked an opponent down with it either.

What a war I think the whole fight would play out like Frazier vs Quarry 1 round 1. Impossible to pick a winner. Frazier was bigger and heavier it might give him the edge but as several noted Marciano is hitting with both hands that can do damage.
Impossible to pick a winner but I know it would be a great fight.

In a case like this with two punchers I tend to lean towards the fighter I think is going to land the cleaner shots. I believe that would be Frazier. He was a little more accurate and tighter with his punches. He didn't miss by the margins that Marciano often did. Anything can happen though. If Rock lands his right on the button Frazier is gonna be hurt. I doubt anyone can keep Joe down for a 10 count though. He is always gonna get up swinging. Its a tough call..this would probably be a series of fights.

The other factor is who the referee would be. If the fight goes awhile and Rocky gets cut would they let it go? Joe didn't cut but he puffed up as well.

Quarry himself was always confident he would have beaten Marciano, fighters ego perhaps.

Another vote for Marciano. To be fair, a Frazier win would not be a shock, but I think that Marciano would benefit from not having to look for Frazier and would probably win the late rounds of a close fight thanks to his fantastic stamina. This could mess both of these guys up.

Yeah I would chalk that up to ego. Marciano over performed in big fights Quarry was hit and miss I would take the rock however quarry's counter punching would pose problems

Frazier would grind down Marciano. It goes maybe 9 rounds.

    Marciano was overrated, guys.

I think Frazier beats Marciano. I'd look for Frazier to drop Marciano early in the fight with a left hook Marciano would get up and they'd continue battling on the inside. I'd look for Frazier to land powerful left hook while bobbing and weaving and eventually putting Marciano down again around the 8-10 this time I feel Frazier would finish him off. Marciano does have a chance to get home with his right hand and possibly KO Frazier though can't count him out.

He was. Very underrated defense. Many felt they would hit Rocky at will but found a much more difficult than anticipated target in the ring. Marciano had the ability to bob and weave after throwing a punch which left him out of range for counters. Having two fisted power vs Frazier hook gives him a significant advantage.

Marciano would have been badly exposed had he fought in the '60s.

There is nothing to expose. One of the greatest of all hwt champions.

I at one time when I was young and less experienced thought as you. I am man enough to say today I was completely wrong.

Marciano would have given both Ali and Louis (pretty much universally rated 1 and 2 all time) incredibly competitive bouts. Absolutely would not be surprised if he beat both.

Rocky was a ko puncher akin to Louis and Dempsey in this regard(harder puncher than Frazier) and he had that staccato bob after he threw punches that was difficult to time. You can see both Moore and Walcott looking to hit Rocky with counters after making him miss but many times he was not there to hit.

I am no "fan" of Rocky but certainly look at him objectively today rather than judging him based upon preconceived opinions.

True, Frazier was known for never backing down.
