Im a fan too, but not a subjective dikkrider. He's right. There is no fighter today from 154-168 that beats GGG unless they catch him coming off the flu again like he was vs Ouma and Rosado. Lord knows he won't let a fight be postponed. But Bister hit the lottery when Mike was fighting 101 fevers for a wk and partying with 5 Geishas at a time in the preceding week before the fight. GGG aint gonna be having no Geishas delivered, but he's damn well know to fight through a flu. Tyson has 30 million reasons to fight Douglas sick. GGG fought Ouma sick for 30K.
I will agree I would pick GGG to beat the fighters around 154-168, the only guy who could beat GGG for me around those weight classes was Ward and his moved up. However unlike that fan boy I'm not gunna act like it's out of the realms of possibility for someone to beat him. Anyone can be beaten, no one is invincible that's just how I see things.
Yes they were, everyone thought Tyson couldn't be beaten and he was. Are you stupid or what? how can I be a Jacobs fan boy if I'm picking GGG by TKO? Just coz I give Jacobs a small chance whilst you give him none doesn't make a fan boy. Unlike you I view GGG as a mortal and not a God.
Close fights, he lost home decisions to Sturm and Martinez but let's not act like Martinez wasn't finished at that point. He got blasted out by cotto in his next fight, Sturm went on to lose to Geale who wasn't a world beater either. At best Murray and Macklin are fringe world level quality they were top 10 because the MW division has been poor in terms of depth for the last 6+ years.
So what does that mean?Cleverly and Fonfara were in a fight of the year contender a lil while does that mean they are great?
He can't stay and trade with GGG he would just get blasted. I tihnk the only way to beat GGG is to box like a super human and never get hit by anything.
The game-plan should be to stay right in front of Golovkin, jab and circle, but don't skip away and give Golovkin lots of room to hunt him down and cut the ring off. Too much movement gives Golovkin momentum, he's most vulnerable when you come right at him. So in between jabbing and circling, Jacobs should explode with combinations to the head and body, making sure that he moves his head off-center with each punch so he's not timed in an exchange. Once in a while he can frustrate Golovkin with a round of almost pure movement, exploding in 2-3 times just to shoe-shine and get out, mixing up the rhythm. He might even try every once in a while to fight a round purely on the inside, smothering Golovkin's power. The main thing is to punch from a distance without giving up too much ground and switching up the rhythm so he's never set and gains momentum.
No Does Mean They're Memorable And Have A Great FanBase, you right thou, but just saying Macklin came to fight,he was the aggressive inside fighter of the middleweight till GGG( not saying GGG fights inside but that he ended Macklin and the insiders in the middleweight)
Martinez looked like a God in his fight prior to Murray when he boxed Jrs ears off for 35 minutes. Murray RUINED Sergio and made him the cripple that cashed out v Cotto. Just saying.
The secret plan that SOB Ward, Hunter have for Jacobs is to own the judges, own the referee, own the boxing commission, own the announcers, home town advantage, so all Jacobs has to do is run, hold, grab Golovkin's leg like SOB did against Kovalev, headbutt, bite, throw low blows to the balls, legs, elbows, etc., also own the ring doctor so when he headbutts his doctor will stop the fight on a cut................. Jacobs might try to knock Golovkin out in the first or second round, if that does not work all he has to do is survive, the judges have already filled out their cards. I predicted the same thing for the Kovalev fight, although Kovalev beat the hell out of SOB, SOB's American Vegas criminal judges gave the fight to SOB, the crowd booed the decision and yes, even SOB fans did the same........they booed also...............Kovalev fought a lot, quite ofter, now SOB will be taken to court over the rematch clause because SOB knows he lost the fight.............
No my friend, I'm not stupid,...just very tired....it's been a long day. You're not a fan boy...I was wrong, ...and I'm not one either...I've been around too long for that....but you're misunderstanding me...I am not maintaining that GGG cannot be beaten, but there's no one today who can handle him "whilst" he's at his peak. This guy Jacobs is going to be fighting a better fighter than Pirog...and if he displays the same lack of defense that he had vs the Russian, then he's in for a terrible beating. If Golovkin fights the same patient, measured, methodical fight as in his bout with Lemieux, he will eventually track down, find and then stop Jacobs. It's as simple as that...and only if he is way off his game will Jacobs have a chance. I really don't think that will happen. Like I said, the guy who can beat GGG is nowhere to be found in today's crop of middles..IMO...maybe in the super middle division there's someone who can, but that's looking ahead too much. GGG KO 8 Jacobs. Maybe even sooner.
Maybe someone dedicated to defense, ....a middleweight version of Jimmy Young, like Erislandy Lara (he's not quite as good as Jimmy Young)...could go the distance, maybe frustrate GGG a bit...and maybe provide a more daring, complete fighter with the blueprint on how to actually beat him. I seriously don't think that Jacobs is that guy.
