You're probably right about that, because, as I've said, Lara isn't quite as good as Jimmy Young.

lol I'm not sure you could make that argument. Young was fighting the better comp of course but he lost to some less than stellar names whereas Lara has only lost at the top level and every loss is debateable.

Jimmy's management fed him to the lions in his 11th pro fight vs Earnie Shavers...and he got stopped. His style wasn't that which it would come to be yet, and he was a sitting duck...Shavers got him. This impelled Jimmy to change his style and he became a slicker fighter...and in the rematch went the distance with Earnie and earned a draw. He only got better after that...learning all kinds of tricks. But Shavers, ....in his
1th pro bout??? Hell, Shavers would have ko'ed Ali in his 11th bout. His management really had some 'splaining to do IMO. Many of Jimmy's losses came after he lost that spark, after getting robbed so many times after the Norton "loss"....and in that bout with Cooney, he wasn't his old self, but he did remarkably well,...never being hurt and standing right there in the pocket with Gerry, occasionally making him look bad...until that big cut,...and even then, Cooney couldn't even stagger Young...but the fight was stopped.Young's weakness, IMO, would have been against high volume, pressure fighters like Joe Frazier, who would have kept him on the defensive for too much of the fight. I believe that Frazier would have gotten a decision over Young.
I don't know, kinda doubt, that Lara has the chin that Young had, and whether he could survive being clocked by GGG like Young was able to vs Foreman. All i know is that a bout between GGG and Lara would be interesting....and it would answer a few questions about both men...probably more about Lara than Golovkin.

Reading the very good suggestions on this thread only makes clear that Jacobs is not the guy to put these plans into effect. Plus at some point, many points most likely, he'll get caught on the ropes and get hurt.

There's a reason why Jacobs did not want this fight. Levels exist in boxing.

None. Unless GGG is on his way down, Daniel is getting knocked out.

Having rewatched Jacobs recent fight nothing tells me he can do the things necessary to beat GGG, if he comes out gung-ho then it will be fun whilst it lasts but I think his gunna get stopped rounds 5-8

Plaster, cheque drops, a ton of luck and a few lines of coke a half hour before the fight.
