I love his story, family dynamics,a
hometown pressure, adversity and diligence to never give up. Dick Ecklund was such an integral part of Mickey and to me that makes him that much greater. I hold dear the Sanchez fight where Mick was getting worked but one of my top five KOs of all time. ( Sorry, had to get off GGG for a min, my brain was hurting )

But he wasn't that good lmao. Why is it today, the little guy, like the hobbit gets glorified over anybody else. What ever happen to winners getting their rightful recognition. I'm willing to bet Mickey couldn't beat Angel Manfredy when he was relevant back in the day. Just playing devils advocate here but I'm serious at the same time.

Society is growing more dumb by the day. When is this fad going to end lmao

FFS.... so what he wasn't that good. Are only fighters you think are good worthy of fans? Is that how you choose your support, find a fighter who's already good, and bandwagon onto them?

So this guys is a fan of Mickey Ward. And you think that means society is dumber. That makes you come off as a something of a c*nt you know.

Ward was fun to watch, and he gave his all despite not having the guns to match the better fighters. And you think society is dumb because he has fans. f*ck off...

He was the working man's fighter. I know he wasn't elite but he had such heart,a never quit attitude and did made the most from the hand that was dealt to him, which made me a fan. Thanks for that, btw

Ward was a Warrior and always entertaining...both He and Gatti were responsible for possibly the Greatest round of Boxing I have ever seen...we need more Ward's and Gatti's now instead of these hand Picking Prima Donna's protecting there Resume's.!!!!!

No, I'm just tired of second place getting rewarded like they won when in fact they lost in today's society. Why even rank fighters if winning doesn't matter. It sends the wrong message. Mickey was an entertaining fighter but he wasn't great by any means. Calling a dead man dead is no crime. So calling somebody for what they were isn't either. Go take your mydol.

No one said he was great dumb*ss. A poster just wanted to share on a fighter he really liked. OMG on a boxing message board! Oh...how dare he right?

Tell you what, I'll pop some mydol if you take a class on reading comprehension.

One of the best trifectas I've seen. And the respect they showed to each other was true definition of sportsmanship in my book
