Ward can "retire" then come back 18 months later. He can simply retire, vacate the titles and take a long break vacationing, commentating, etc. Then, in 2019, he can sign up with showtime, request 3 tune ups, and then fight the latest and greatest LHW and win by hugging, elbowing, and headbutting them to death. Ward is a genius.
Meh... they don't have to admit it. We know they all realize he shouldn't have got that W. It's more fun seeing them try and defend that 'win' and come up with ******ed arguments.
I dont mind if he retires to be honest never been a fan of his ... he complains a lot and just plain annoying. he agreed to the rematch should just honour it and if he doesn't want to then just retire and go away .
Ward clearly won a close fight, and it's up to him whether he wants to rematch or not. Changes nothing, he WON the first fight. And he will win #2 if that ever occurs.
It wasn't a gift. No one who has Kov winning has yet to give a round by round analysis because they know they will get called out on their ****. This isn't limited to posters here. I'm talking about media as well. Ward fought an uphill battle and won. Kov got tired and lost momentum as the fight wore on. Kov had moderate success in rounds 10 and slightly 12 landing a few jabs. Lampley tried his best to hype up his work as possible while neglecting what Ward was doing in those last rounds. The judges got it right. It's on video. I'll face off against anybody analyzing rounds and I will win just like Ward.
I really don't see how the two are related. If Ward "retires" or not, it doesn't change the outcome of the fight.
LOL yes they have. There have been SEVERAL round by round analyses of this match done by different people. Most of those have Kovalev winning. I've actually only encountered ONE that has Ward winning and that one was pretty ****ing terrible.
I'm sure Kovalev hates Ward with a seething passion. Took his titles and then stalled out his career. Kov either waits on Ward for the rematch or takes another fight and then forfeits his rematch power. Who's gonna fight Krusher without his titles? And at what purse? I'm sure GGG sees this when it comes to Ward. When a ref fails to enforce the rules (no penalty for holding and coming in with his head) it's 2 vs 1 in the ring. I'm glad Golovkin avoided Ward.
LOL It's Ward's fault Kovalev can't get a fight, give me a break. Ward is taking a break from the sport, Kovalev can easily fight someone else while Ward is on vacation and commentating.
Kovalev held as much as Ward. What did Kovalev say prefight? " I'll break his arms!!" It was a somewhat ugly fight but it was not a dirty fight in my opinion.
