Why do people think Wladimir Klitschko ducked Sanders, Purrity rematch? It was the other way round.

    1) It's pursue.
    2) The timelines don't mesh. Look it up. Wlad was trying to get his belts back and Sanders had been stripped and faced Vitali.
    3) After the Vitali fight it's clear Corrie was finished. He looked like Sh*t after that and a win over him at that point would have held about as much credibility as beating ancient Holyfield with the heart problem. Sanders simply had nothing left in the tank at the world level anymore.

you need to stop getting so defensive when someone challenges your beliefs.
i'm posting a valid argument so I don't know why you are on a boxing forum if you're afraid to lock horns with someone.

Hopkins, Martinez, paul Williams, winky wright, Kelly pavlik, jermain taylor...i'm sure there are others who were performing on the biggest stage of all (and who all fought each other to some degree)
saying "golovkin was a nobody" only cements my argument. sturm didn't fight him!

sturm didn't fight all of the top players in his time, but he sure did lose to some pretty ordinary ones - including castillejo (who I believe was in his 40's at the time)

    What times lines?

Wlad went and fought Moli. Why didn't he rematch Sanders when he had a legal hold over him. His own promoter said he needed other fights. This is not even coming from me , its coming form Wlads own team , yet you still only believe your own version of events? Why? Why can't you accept reality?

Sanders was tied up until 2004 trying to (a) fight Tua, the legitimate mandatory and (b) not fight Brewster, the Don King mandatory that brought NO money at all and (c) trying to find a big-bucks opponent before he stiffened and died of old age.

Wlad immediately took a couple of fights to keep busy while the Sanders situation sorted itself out. When Sanders was stripped Wlad took on Brewster to win back his WBO title. I guess that you could make the argument that he could have left the title and fought Sanders instead, but Sanders was engaged to fight Vitali. I'd say that going after the title instead of trying to fight Sanders at Vitali's expense was acceptable.

Sanders arrived in horrible shape (imho) for the Vitali fight and totally blew his wad in that one and received a fair beating.

The only POSSIBLE date for a rematch after that was Oct-Dec 2004 where Wlad fought Williamson and Sanders fought Varakin. But: 1) Sanders needed more recovery time than Wlad did. and 2) Sanders was done by then. I wouldn't have given much weight to Wlad beating him after the Vitali fight.

Corrie didn't fight again till 2006 in "the battle of the whales" against Colin Wilson.

Nobody would have given Wlad any credit for beating the beachball version of Sanders.

you are supopsed to chase a defeat.

if its a defeat to a complete rubbish opponent then you should REALLY be chasing it to prove it was a blip. The onus was on wlad, not on a retiree of no career success.

Dino, lets get something clear about this situation and Glass Jaw Roy Jones. As soon as Roy beat Ruiz you know who his Mandatory was? Dr. Vitali Klitschko who was #1 in the WBA and WBC at the time. When Vitali declared shortly after he was going to enforce his WBC mandatory status he was immediately dropped from the WBA mandatory spot and David Tua was inserted as his new Mandatory. Jones was NEVER going to fight Sanders, Klitschko, or Tua.

He did trigger it but Sanders didn't honor it. Sanders broke the contract and went for the WBC belt instead.

    Quotes ^

My understanding is that if Sanders had fought Wlad immediately after, he would have been stripped and neither he nor Wlad would have had the belt. I never recalled Wlad demanding that Sanders vacate in order to fight him.

No. What Dino does is take a tiny seed of truth and spin it up into a redwood tree.

A guy gets staggered but otherwise dominates a fight = OMFG! He totally got exposed, was going to lose and cheated to win.

    Etc. It's really childish.

What's more, all his efforts are for nothing, because even if he wanted to break down a fighter's legacy, ten minutes of research reveals him as a fantasist if not outright liar. Folks don't tend to weigh the word of a mentally disturbed person very heavily.

I feel for the guy (probably because i'm getting a bit long in tooth now!)
some people have RL problems they need to sort out - improve themselves if you will.
he needs to do this because he sets himself up on here

all I wanted to do was debate him about felix sturm, but he's done a runner twice now because he knows there is no defense of the way he ran his scandalous career!
