Why do people think Wladimir Klitschko ducked Sanders, Purrity rematch? It was the other way round.

Corrie Sanders will be allowed one voluntary defence of the WBO heavyweight title he so easily wrenched from Wladimir Klitschko’s grasp before he is contractually obligated to fight the 1996 Olympic champion once again.

Klitschko, who will travel to the US tomorrow with brother Vitali, wants immediate revenge, but cooler heads at the Hamburg headquarters of Universum Box Promotions are considering an interim fight against the likes a Fres Oquendo, John Ruiz or - surprisingly – the heavy-handed David Tua.

What more needs to be said. Wlad went in another direction. Its all there in post 83. Thanks for beating your own self.

Not sure how I beat myself.

If you misinterpret the facts presented in post #83 or isolate them to draw conclusions, that is a personal problem.

You are desperately going in a helpless direction of contradictions, begging for isolated responses, because everything is covered in post #83.

    Wow.

This thread has hurt my head. Ha!

    From what I can gather:

Corrie didn't duck a rematch with Wlad.

Universum obviously wanted Wlad to take at least one tune up. And why wouldn't they have wanted that under the circumstances? That was only logical.

The only thing worth debating here, is whether or not you think that Wlad was genuine when he apparently said that he couldn't wait to get Corrie back in the ring to gain immediate revenge.

You're pathetically hiding behind a wall of text because you know you cannot defend the details.

Nowhere in post 83 does it state
    A. Sanders rejected a rematch.
    B. Wlad triggered his rematch clause.

Everything in post 83 backs my argument up , not yours. This is why you are refusing outright to debate the finer details. Anybody that isn't a rabid Klitschko fanatic can see that im right. You come second place to me once again.
The more you tangle with me the worse it will get , so go ahead and post 83 for the 100th time.
This battle is over. Your gormless dome is resting on my mantle piece.

So why didn't he. History and post 83 proves he avoided the rematch.

    From Post # 83:

    In an unusual move,
    This content is protected
for newly crowned heavweight champ Corrie Sanders. Sanders (37-2, 27 KOs) must fight the first available contender in the heavyweight division.[...] With a voluntary defense apparently out of the picture, [...] WBO #1 David Tua unavailable (already engaged in a fight with Hasim Rahman) it looks like
    This content is protected

That leaves number two-rated Lamon Brewster, as the next available challenger to face Sanders. The same boxer who was supposed to face Wladimir on March 8th, but decided to back-out of the negotiations.
    This content is protected
, as Wladimir holds the third spot in the ratings. "I would be very happy should the situation turn this way," said Wladimir when we spoke with him.

I suppose you could also say post 83 proves the Moon Landing was Fake, I can't stop you, you have the right to make a fool of yourself.

But anyone that listens to you and goes to my post, will see the truth on the matter.

Post #83 is not an indulgence in personal flights of fancy, it is a detailed fact based explanation as to why the fight did not happen.

We know that Universum didn't want an immediate rematch.

    Again:

What I want to know, is how much of a fight he put up.

We'll obviously never know. But it makes for a good debate.

Universum may have pleaded with him to take a tune up, and it could have taken a long time to convince him. Alternatively, he may have been more than happy to have taken that route.

Either way, that loss must have had a deep psychological impact on him.

I must admit, that for a long time, I've always believed that he didn't want an immediate rematch, and he was more than happy for Vitali to step in. I've honestly never seen those quotes before that mention him wanting a rematch as soon as possible.

You can't prove a man's deep inner thoughts.

Also you may want to consider Sanders' thought process and what he had on the table. What is the more appealing option? For starters, the court decided if he wanted to keep his WBO title he had to face Brewster in his next match. So his options was going through with that or dropping the WBO title to face one of the brothers. He could rematch Wladimir for no title and possibly lose, be wrote off as a one hit wander...or take on Vitali for the WBC title and make the claim he beat both brothers and is the Man in the division. Then rematch Wlad in a superfight if he wins the RING and WBC belt from Vitali. This was the reasoning Sanders gave and it makes sense, he also stated, he knows Wlad wanted the rematch.

All of which can be found in post #83 lol

My girlfriend has just asked me where the English mustard is that I bought yesterday. Honestly, I nearly said: "It can be found in post #83"

    Ha!

I must have read that at least 10 times.

Thanks to everyone for the great links.

    I'm really enjoying the debate.

What exactly does this prove? Vitali lured Sanders out of the WBO ranking with a big pay day to avenge his brothers loss.
Wlad did not need to fight his way up the rankings. He had an immediate rematch option

Or two , but i completely agree. He was swerved away from the rematch. Id usually have no problem with that , but Wlad is treated like an ATG so he gets judged like an ATG and ATGs don't duck past it contenders from the previous era.

These guys know damn well he didn't seek out that rematch but they have invested so much of their lives in promoting Wlads greatness that they just cannot accept the truth.
Its why Mongoose will absolutely not debate the details other than saying 'post 83' over and over and over again.
