GGG Jacobs purses: GGG $2.5Million Jacobs $1.75 Million

HBO, ESPN, Wikipedia and renowed boxing websites say it was over 150k - 157k. I have no idea about your weird obsession with this 97k number and feel kind of confused how to discuss with you about this topic. I do not want to waste my time discussing with a troll. So please give me a reputable source for this 97k claim, which is more credible than the one I mentioned.

To make it short though. Ward vs. Kovalev made 160k. A little bit more than GGG. USA has 300 Million inhabitants. There are only 23000 Kazakh Americans.

 

Naysayer won't have a source. None of these *ssholes who claim 97K have a legit source.

2.5m and 1.75m is just the guaranteed before the ppv sales. Big props to ggg to allows such a big guarantee to Jacobs to get the fight done.
Some people forget, this fight nearly fell off. I am grateful it was not and are pump to see it.
Similar to what GK Box said, I think the ppv will do minimum of 150k. And the total revenue after live gates and international feed will likely push it close to 8-9m.
Depends on what the ppv % split agreed, GGG could end up bringing home close to 5m anyway, and Jacobs around 3m. Anyway, we shouldn't really care about this point. Let's just enjoy the fight.

 

Jacobs deserves every bit of that purse he received. GGG is not a boxing star. I doubt he's garnered more career earnings than Broner. I don't like unproven guys with no substantial/tangible proof backing his cause getting the benefit of the doubt. It's not helping boxing and it's just further watering down standards.

The only reason Jacobs got what he did because team G had no choice if anything. It's wasn't being generous. At some point, people actually have to start being the part.

 

Benefit of the doubt about what? You're just a negative so-called "fan".. It's clear the way you feel about certain fighters getting recognition YOU don't believe they deserve, that you're not much more than a casual fan of boxing, but probably a HUGE fan of already popular and established fighters. This. Call it hate but it's more accurate than what I see in G sympathizers. Froch even called him a hype job. A guy who felt he had a better case stood his ground and got paid more to his liking. I'm a fan period. Not a stan who needs to feel like they're a part of something like the masses today turning boxing into a popularity contest like it's American Idol. I have individual tastes. Seems to me that these guarenteed purses are fair since both of this guys arent ppv attractions. And K2 is a for profit company, just like 99% of the other promoters.
