I think that had a lot to do with him switching stances and not having enough distance at times so he looked sloppy.

Still won though. Golovkin he knew it too. He knew he got a favour.

    Man, what a night.

A promising prospect in Granat was defeated by a KO1. And against a rather unaccomplished opponent.

A top p4p got his first lost.

Another top p4p got completely exposed and may as well have lost considering his performance.

Jacobs showed determination and resolve, going 12 rounds with Triple G when many believed he'd be knocked out.

Triple G could've looked better, but his jab was a major factor in the success that he did have tonight.

It will be a polarizing time on here for a few days.

ggg outlands him by 60 punches, landed the harder punches and yet its a robbery? you guys need to watch out for jabs and actual punches instead of losing your minds that someone still isnt in hospital

Doesn't matter, he still loaded up on his punches and landed. Golovkin did more overall damage with work, but still lost.

No disrespect to you at all, my man. I just feel like that logic of "he did more damage so he won" is flawed logic. Golovkin is already stronger fighter, both chin and fist. Scoring criteria is meant to be fair for weaker fighters too.

Jesus people, so because Golovkin didnt knock out Jacobs it means Jacobs won the fight? LMAO. I guess to win Golovkin has to knock out his rivals. The rest of the boxing community also had GGG ahead. FOH

I really don't understand the bitterness aimed towards Golovkin, I really don't.

If he was arrogant, flashy, trash talking or away from boxing a wife beating, womanising wrong'un I would completely understand, I would dislike him too.

But somebody who dislikes him explain to me what the reason is? I'm being serious because the hatred, bitterness and desire to see him fail/lose i just don't understand.

I dont know if had an effect, but this whole thing with the IBF is messing up boxing. It may have messed up Stevens vs Lemieux as well. You can't have one fighter making sure he doesn't go over ten pounds, thinking about the second weigh in, and the other one not caring. Either both do it or neither. They have to have some agreement when its unified that the do that for all the belts or they do not bother with second day at all. And then they need to add huge monetary penalties for not complying.

With that said I don't know if it was a factor. I thought triple g won the first round on ring generalship because when there is nothing going on and one guy is trying to make the action I tip my hat their way. There was enough close rounds you can argue that their was no clear victor.

For sure they should have an immediate rematch. What is this bull****?? oh wait Triple G needs to go fight in Kazachstan and then wait around for Canelo who never does what he says. Forget Canelo. Forget Billy Joe. Two guys that called out Triple G then ran off. Jacobs answered the bell. Jacobs got up from a KD. Jacobs is the first guy to take GGG twelve and Jacobs has a legitimate case that he won since there was no clear victor.

If GGG really wants the "best fights" the best fight is an immediate Jacobs rematch where they either both ignore, or both comply with the second day weight.

ya people lose their minds that jacobs avoided hospital, i think there was that feeling, 'what a ggg fight is going to the cards, wdf happens now? when in reality he was backing rounds with the jab

Jacobs is faster than Golovkin. So shouldn't we be fair for slower fighters theb to by your logic? Damage is how you score in pro boxing. Damage is the biggest scorer in the sport.
