They were making excuses left and right tonight for GGG. Not even he could lie for himself and that's honorable. I like ragging Golovkin fans but now I feel for him because he is about to be a big ass target. At 35 he better just take the Canelo money.
After this performance, Canelo's finally find the b*lls to fight golovkin after he beats stoner chavez jr..
Him being 35 means he should avoid the Canelo fight now for his legacy. At 32 or 33 Golovkin likely destroys Canelo. Now at 35 he should not fight Canelo unless Canelo becomes his mandatory. Golovkin already got Canelo to literally give him his world title belt. Only thing Canelo didn't give him was a handjob. Golovkin is old now, past his prime. He ls at the stage of his career where he needs to cherrypick. He should fight Saunders and becoming undisputed then retire.
This fight reminded me a lot of Andy Lee/Quillin in that it was a slow tense fight and not much happened. Jacobs did well but I just don't think he was assertive enough to beat the champion. He never hurt GGG just stopped him coming forward a couple of times.
Willie all fighters have bad fights, but there is nobody at the moment except Ward who has chances to defeat GGG. Jacobs hits, despite Jacobs being waaaaay heavier and having knockout punch didn't hurt GGG, so what's the point of that post?
My point is that I have been called alot of N-words behind Golovkin criticism and tonight I feel vindicated. He had 2 bad nights in back to back fights, so all that stuff that Billy C and Thunderdomeboxingtalk were saying about him being a better boxer than Hagler, Mayweather, Ali or whatever got flushed down the drain tonight as he struggled with Danny mutha****ing Jacobs.
Final CompuBox total punches stats: Golovkin 233-of-618 (38%), Jacobs 176-of-542 (32%) GGG wasn't struggling with Jacobs, that's illusion. I don't support those talks about GGG being better than fighters from previous era fighters till the end of career of GGG.
In accordance to Compubox, Mayweather outpunched Pacquiao and Ward out punched Kovalev but people want to say he won that fight anyway. I feel the same way tonight, Danny won.
Compubox can be inaccurate. If you watch the replays some of the shots Danny landed on Golovkin looked like shots on the gloves in the fight. It's hard to see from a certain distance.
What Danny did to win? He did clearly put great fight, but else did he do to win? He was running away from GGG for most of the fight, he was knocked down, he was outpunched, but he did show will and that's it.
That's exactly why some people think that Jacobs was wining, although Jacobs was not able to overcome GGG defence in many situations.
Hagler lost to Monroe and some other bum back in the late 70s. Floyd went life and death with Castillo and he was prime then too. Later Floyd arguably lost to Maidana, but was a little over the hill at thst point, but still.
That's just it ggg was never that good and I said that from the jump weak division made him look good
