Robbery???

Rewatched the fight, GGG won clearly, that wasn't a close fight, end of the story.

And there was already a poll in regards to this and the spread was 66% win by GGG and 33% to Jacobs with over 300 votes.

 

No robbery.

Just went over the round-by-round CompuBox data (see my thread) and it's even clearer than I thought when watching it the first time.

Jacobs fought a great fight, but it wasn't enough.

I saw both the British and the HBO versions, and the Brits seemed more biased than the HBO guys, which is odd.

Still, the Brits had Jacobs by one round at the end of the fight and then they added that they might be wrong on the scoring.

HBO team had it a toss-up heading into the 12th round.

So everyone was mostly on the same page, or pretty close.

Except the official judges, who had GGG up a bit more.

 

I do recommend to watch it again, I guess the illusion of close fight will disappear or at least you won't have doubt about the winner.

I think GGG is flat footed and Jacobs was very much on his toes using all the ring and it made Golovkin look like a plodder. I watched the fight without scoring, just enjoying and it looked and felt like Jacobs was doing the flashier, eye catching work. Some close rounds and i wasnt sure which way it was guna go on the cards. I have rewatched it and Golovkin won that. Jacobs impressed me a hell of alot but Golovkin won.

 

A robbery is an 8-4 call with no knockdowns that went the other way.

 

I think 6 rounds a piece but 7-5 either way is fine.

 

To be fair, Jacobs did better against Golovkin as Ward did in his bid against Kovalev.
There were a lot of very tight rounds, and the kd in the 4th made the difference on my card. Jacobs didn't clinch as much and spoil like Ward, but used boxing and movement to win his rounds.
I wouldn't have had any problems if he would have won, this was as close as it could be and I actually expected the nod to go to the home fighter, as usual.
