After reading your post, I have a renewed respect for Mayweather. The age in the lowered weights makes a big difference and FM was dominant up until the end and beat better opposition than G. And guys wanted FM to move up and fight G at 38+ years of age!

No , we count from when GGG won the full WBA against Geale.

Hopkins defended full titles , not mickey mouse paper ones.

 

I certainly don't see Golovkin's style as a swarmer like Marciano, Tyson or Dempsey, I see him more of a Joe Louis style fighter.
He's very considered and conservative in his offence he doesn't waste many punches.
He's probably my favourite modern day fighter but the lack of great opposition and being tested at that level just gives me slight doubts about his overall claim to greatness.
