Golovkin has been declining since right after David Lemiuex fight

Great post. I recall people calling Froch a dumbass for his pre fight comments. He said I "remember what it's like to be 35, you don't recover as fast, you start getting hit and you're stamina declines". Froch was actually completely correct.

And you're right Froch was past his best before most of his big fights. When you win the title at 31 that tends to happen.

 

Even if Golovkin was overrated can you blame anybody. He singlehandedly mind ****ed the entire divison. The whole world either ran away like a school girl or was completely destroyed. For the first time in a 10 year career somebody didn't leave on a metaphorical stretcher or duck him.

 

I disagree. Jacobs has been improving and Brook is also a very good win. These are his toughest two opponents yet. No boxer can steam roll everybody their whole career always an opponent awkward out there for any boxer.

He's always been journeyman level.

What's your point? GGG is a very versatile fighter. He jabbed Jacobs to death. Why go into the jaws of the lion when you can win behind the jab. Solid victory for GGG. Just a day at the office.

I don't know if hes slipping any maybe a tiny but probs due to being almost 35.. I think danny was just a lot better then we thought... also danny is huge for 160.. he could possibily dominate 168 if he moved up. I will say GGG'S punches didn't look as hard and strong as in his previous fights.

 

He didn't have any problem with Jacob's size. Golovkin jabbed the **** out of the taller, longer man. And Golovkin's chin laughed at Jacob's shots. Golovkin wasn't fazed by Jacobs power at all.

 

The size difference seemed to bother him, and it should have. But the fact is, GGG is almost 35, probably going to need fighters to come to him from now on.

 

Quite making excuses. GGG hasn't declined.. His detractors knew this was going to happen once he stepped up in competition. You guys, his crazy fanatical fans are the ones who overrated him, and now it's you fanatical fans making excuses for his terrible performance by saying he's "over the hill". You guys are something else.

 

Nobody over age 35 is as good as they were before 35. Not even Marquez or Hopkins.

 

Yeah there are plenty of pathetic excuses going around from some of his fanboys, but what about the erratic hate he's getting from some of the usual suspects? The laughable wide cards in Jacobs favor, all from people who've made it VERY clear that they don't like him. There's plenty of it going around now too in the aftermath of the fight, it's not just fanboys making excuses.

 

I think Jacobs probably won but GGG has visibly declined. Having said that, I still consider him 'near prime' so it should not take anything away from Jacobs' accomplishment.
I feel like I'm outnumbered by the majority incidentally, who feel that Golovkin won.
I'll watch the fight again. Anyway, Jacobs has a win that Mayweather couldn't muster the like of in his 19 year career (if I go by with the initial impression that Jacobs won).
