Who pays the compubox workers?? I'm assuming its HBO, if it is then there is clearly a conflict of interest. Excellent points, why would I trust a man clicking on a machine who only has one view in real time when I have a full view of the ring.
GGG won a close, competitive fight. Worked the jab like a machine, had marvelous defense, was able to adjust well to Jacobs movement and stance swtiches. Both neutralized each other a bit, but GGG was the one able to break through more often. Maybe he was a little too patient at times, but he respected Jacobs' power. Jacobs had a good gameplan and credit to him for surviving all 12 rounds, but he didn't do nearly enough in my eyes. 115-112
Jacobs beats canelo easy he's 6,1 185 lb faster stronger than him. Canelo is nothing but a fat head midget with no foot speed he has no chance.
Jacobs fought like a big girl even though being bigger taller heavier and on peds. With those advantages he should of been on top of ggg.
Compu-Box had : Golovkin landing 231 of 615 punches for a connect percentage of 38%. Jacobs landing 175 of 541 punches for a connect percentage of 32%.
I didn't bother to check them, but I'm not surprised GGG outlanded him significantly. The jab couldn't miss, and there were a ton of them. GGG also landed more telling shots. It didn't take compubox to see that. Jacobs sacrificed too much offense in order to focus on defending the combinations and big punches, and gave up stopping the jab as a tradeoff for that. Didn't seem like he wanted to counter it or jab with him out of concern of what was coming back. He succeeded in keeping GGG honest and didn't get hurt, but it came at the cost of giving up rounds. Danny put up a very game effort, but he didn't land enough to win 8 rounds. Nowhere close to it IMO.
I love GGG to pieces, but Jacobs outlanded him by a good margin, had a lot more punching combinations, was more active and consistent from round to round in terms of that activity and had the better defence and more fluid movement, with his hands, feet and body. GGG was almost reduced to being a head hunter in this fight. There is not a single thing I would give GGG an egdge on in that fight except for a slight power advantage. GGG lost that man, and if you're too blind to see it you weren't listening to what Jacobs was saying in the post-fight interview. It's simple business really, and that's why boxing is bleeding fans.
I watched the first 6rnds, and 12th. Now I haven't seen the punch stats , but through the first 6, I gave Jacobs maybe 1 round and at that was a very close 2nd round. He wasn't as active as GGG, and most of his punches were getting gloves or grazing, I didn't see GGGs head snap back very often. Now, GGG's jab was snapping Jacob's head back constantly. With GGG coming forward, constantly working, the odd combo's that Jacobs threw per round, just weren't enough, esp when they weren't landing much. GGG was in a fight, but Jacobs didn't do enough and GGG landed way more clean punches rounds 1-6 and the 12th I watched (which was a closer round). I don't see the point in a rematch though, GGG won't accomplish much, he needs a bigger name, unless the PPV sales for this warrant a rematch.
Lol!! Certain people on here acting like this is your little Kovalev v.s Ward robbery and your chance to rub a stollen victory in GGG fans faces. Lol! But it's not Not even close. GGG won this fight by a couple of points for reasons already mentioned and this poll will be one of MANY to show the vast majority agree. Nice try
