Let's see what happens in the rematch- it will be a very different fight with all hell breaking lose on G's part.
Impressed with Jacobs but he has a big mouth and he will pay.

I agree GGG was the aggressor kept control of the center of the ring used his jab well Jacobs stated winning rounds when he switched to southpaw. I was really impressed with Jacobs ability to take a punch he got hit hard and square on the button. I bet he walked into the ring pushing 180. For some reason that extra fluid helps you take a punch

GGG missed alot of jabs and power shots.. I think those stats might be a little inflated.

Jacobs deserves a ton of credit for his fight. Losing a close, hard fought battle, nothing to be ashamed of.

Good fight. Going in I did give Jacobs a chance of being the first guy in a long time to go the distance with Golovkin but overall I was more expecting Golovkin to eventually break him down and stop him around the 8th and either way I thought he'd win a clearly. This always happens in boxing at some point when you got a destroyer like Golovkin. Eventually their going to meet a guy whose got the skill to stick with them and can take their shots. Overall I scored similar to Lederman and had it even going into the 12th. I thought Golovkin won the round and in turn won the fight. This fight to me makes the Canelo fight even more interesting, I wasn't sure if anyone at 160 would be able to take Golovkin shots but Jacobs showed it is possible. I never counted Canelo out against Golovkin but now I'm 50/50 on that fight.

After watching the fight for a second time and looking at the final punch count I think GGG won. Maybe GGG just had a bad night. I have always said he gets hit to much.

At least Jacobs was competitive. He gave it his best shot but it just wasn't good enough. Let's move on a rematch is pointless

Lets just remember Canelo is no MW and cannot do the same things Jacobs can . Keep that in mind.

    114-113 Golovkin for me

He's gotten a lot of stick for his defensive ability over time, but it was very good tonight. He blocked a lot of what Jacobs threw at him. To my eyes it looked like Sanchez prepared him for Jacobs to come out all guns blazing like a lot on here thought; he was sat hoping to counter a trade than never really came. Turned out to be an excellent game plan by Jacobs' team, he really impressed me with his movement and switching. For me, Golovkin's jab won him most of his rounds - it was accurate and dictated Jacobs' movements. Make no mistake, that Jacobs would have easily beaten Canelo last night in my opinion. He showed how much he's improved since Pirog for sure.

I was also a bit surprised to see a real lack of body work from GGG. He wasn't able to get his left hooks off in general though and that was because of Jacobs' strafing around the ring. A lot was made of the IBF weigh in thing...look it was smart and Jacobs was well within his rights to do that really, he wanted the W more than that belt. But we have to stay objective - to say that extra weight didn't give him some advantage would be churlish.

Had it come in as a decision for Jacobs I could have easily accepted that. Think we underestimated him. I think any use of the words 'fraud' 'robbery' or 'fix' should include a ban for this week, same as it should have post Kova-Ward (which I score the same funnily enough). A real close fight between the top 2 guys in a division and the No1 came out on top.

    The End

A very simple exercise would be to flip the situation.

Let's say Jacobs had been given the win.

How would people feel about that? Would it have been a robbery, or unfair?
