Anybody who has GGG winning either of the first 2 rds doesn't know **** about boxing. The guy who controls the pace and dictates the terms wins the rd. Not the guy who throws and misses a lot of punches.

Alright yesterday I might have been a little influenced by my peers who I was watching the fight with and under the influence as well. I thought Danny put up a wide scorecard but after rewatching the fight minutes ago, I have to say it was a very close fight.

I saw GGG doing the better work early, but seemed to fade in the middle and later rounds. I don't know what I can truly contribute that to, other than GGG finally being in a fight with someone who was the best he's ever fought.

GGG didn't look like he knew what to do when Jacobs would do a little switch hitting. At times he looked confused, and once Jacobs got his confidence he looked to be gaining the momentum, which he did. He wasn't afraid of GGG and I think that could have played a role on GGG'S psyche going into the championship rounds. Great performance from Jacobs, but I'm not buying into the excuse that GGG is now "over the hill"...

    1.) GGG
    2.)GGG
    3.)Jacobs
    4.)GGG
    5.)GGG
    6.)Jacobs
    7.)Jacobs
    8.)Jacobs
    9.)GGG
    10.)Jacobs
    11.)Jacobs
    12.)Jacobs

My final score is: 114-113 Daniel Jacobs.

Now the 12 round which alot of people gave to GGG I have to disagree on. I think both fighters were tit 4 tat in the first minute of the round, but then Jacobs just started out working GGG with body shots and quick combos on the inside and also finished the round strong. So that's why I gave Jacobs that round. He just looked to do the better work that round and took advantage of GGG trying to land that big shot, which he missed several times. Very good fight!

A few points I have to make about the Gonzalez fanboys crying robbery.

Compubox has never been the most reliable source, and that's in matches where the guys are throwing 20-30 shots per rounds, so I highly doubt their accuracy when judging how many clean shots are landed in a literal tornado of punches.

That being said, Roman racked up the lopsided numbers from a handful of one sided rounds, the rest he may have edged by 5 or 6 shots. Most rounds the punches landed varied by around 5 or 10, not 20 or 30.

Now let's look at the quality of the punches, Sor Rungvisai clearly landed the more hurtful thudding punches, even the shots he landed on the arms of Roman looked like they hurt, and when you see a guy coming forward driving a straight left through the guard and landing uppercuts and hooks to the body, repeatedly, one at a time, they make more of an impression than the little flurries Roman did attempting to steal back a lot of the rounds he was losing in, or his weak jabs.

So you get rounds where one guy lands a shitload of pitty pats, and yes at Super Flyweight Roman isn't all that heavy handed, or a guy that's literally driving Roman back a few inches with every clean shot that lands. Which shots count for more? Roman's may have been cleaner and more accurate, but Sor Rungvisai's did more damage, wherever they landed.

Now onto the robbery claims, who in the hell would it benefit if Chocolatito lost? Certainly not HBO, they don't want one of their budding superstars they're shoving down everyone's throats taking a loss, they had a Gonzalez-Inoue superfight that they've been priming us up for and slowly building towards. Or a profitable rematch with either Estrada or Cuadras, or both.

I highly doubt they were getting payback in some way for the Cuadras and Estrada results, neither of them were clear cut robberies, if a robbery at all, and I doubt Cuadras and Estrada backers or fans hold much sway in Vegas. Also like I said before why derail rematches with both to hand the belt to a relative unknown?

I also highly doubt anyone wanted to see the P4P Number 1 fighter in the world lose to a virtual unknown Thai garbage man, it would benefit no one financially. The only people that may have been happy about this result were the legions of Mayweather fanboys on the net who resent all the hype Roman gets as far as being the new P4P No. 1 or for some other bizarre reason, but I doubt internet fanboy's opinions hold much sway with Boxing judges.

Roman lost a close fight in which he got the hell beaten out of him by the harder puncher and the bigger man, he fought valiantly, produced another brilliant FOTY contender, but the result was just. Finally the judges in Vegas got one right, and that's with the shitty ref deducting an unnecessary point for an entirely unintentional butt. Roman did awesomely, but last night just wasn't his night and Super Flyweight just isn't and will never be his division.

Pinoy Prodigy picked Roman Gonzalez to win, and he had the same score as I did, what the **** is his problem Doc? I'm also pretty sure the daughter of HBO's very own Harold Lederman wanted Roman to win too, since he's a top guy on the channel her dad works for, and even she couldn't bring herself to score it for Roman.

Yeah I scored it for Sor Rungvisai not because I thought he was going to win, I'd seen him several times beforehand and wasn't shocked by anything I was witnessing I could comprehend it and still score the match fairly, whereas the rest of you couldn't believe your eyes and were mortified and started bending over backwards looking for every round you could somehow see a way to score for Roman, you scored for Roman. Confirmation bias my ass, everyone on this thread had a Roman Chocolatito Gonzalez bias going into to this thread.

I can see the 4th going to Roman, Sor Rungvisai still wins, if you give Roman one of the later rounds, its a draw, I'm hard pressed to find one more to give him, much less two like a lot of you did.

Just rewatched it. I had it 114-113 Golovkin. A rematch is definitely needed. It also seemed like Golovkin stepping on Jacobs' foot, and moving into him caused the knockdown.
