Old Foreman from the C00ney fight vs the best version of Bowe. I know Bowe is more polished, but if he can't take Golota's power, he can't take Foreman's power shots. I think Bowe would also be bothered by Foreman's strength and size. I don't think Foreman would have ever risked fighting Bowe, but I think he could have beat him if the fight turned into a brawl, although I could see the fight going either way.
Bowe got old overnight. That wasn't prime Bowe against Golota. Look what Alex Stewart was able to do against Foreman. Bowe would really bust up Foreman and force a mercy stoppage at some point.
I think bowe is faster and his longer reach would help him stay out of too much trouble, foreman didnt exactly have fast feet or great headmovement to get inside. Bad style match up for Ol George
Both guys were used to being the big guy in any fight. Foreman actively avoided guys as big or bigger than he. I'm not sure Bowe did but he usually had the size edge. Bowe did a better job on Holyfield but I don't think Bowe did a better job on Pierre coetzer. Against Holyfield Bowe had the work rate that Foreman lacked where as when they both fought the same South African it became more of a physical fight with each producing equal results over the same victim. I think Bowe was flattered a bit in that his best win was over a guy so much smaller than he was. Holyfield suited Bowe. The rest of the guys he beat were just the guys everyone else was beating. I liked him in that fight with Gonzales but even an old Witherspoon beat him up. And the next best big guy Bowe tangled with is Golotta who basically sent Bowe into retirement. Therefore if A fight between bald headed Foreman and Ridick Bowe descended into a physical match it's a fair fight. The edge Bowe would have could be if he elects or is able to control things at range and prevents George from walking up and creating a physical slog of a fight. I do think Bowe would out land Foreman either way but he would be drawn into a fight that suits George. It would be like Foreman v Briggs. I don't buy that Bowe is sensible enough to fight the right fight for him. It's close.
This. I think Foreman's jab and power would get to Bowe. All it would take would be a couple power shots to create a stationary Bowe, then Foreman could drop him. Of course I think Bowe could use his mobility to defeat Foreman, but I wouldn't bank on him doing it. He seemed to want to Brawl with guys and got drawn into slugfests.
Bowe. Brutally. C'mon guys, let's not get carried away. Old Foreman got bounced around by Holyfield, and Holyfield got bounced around by Bowe. Complete and total mismatch.
Did you score a round for Coertzer against Bowe? Let me point out that Coetzer took a hell of a beating by Bowe followed by another bad beating by Bruno before he got to Foreman who then ended his career - and that was all within a 6 month period Its fair to say Bowe beat a much fresher and primer version of Coetzer than Bruno and Foreman.
Bowe in a rough brawling match. Both men take there lumps. Foreman looks on the verge of been out on his feet several times but managers to keep on his feet. Later rounds foreman gets a second wind as bowe slows down and rips in some savage upper cuts. Both see the final bell but it's bowe by wide margin. He makes it harder though than it could have been.
Both fights went the distance and you shouldn't really rely on A beat B, B beat C therefore .... It doesn't always work like that. I'm not saying Foreman would win but he'd be a tough opponent. Bowe would have to box a different type of fight to get around Foreman, he couldn't just stand and slug like he did with Holyfield.
This. Not an easy match for Bowe. Not an easy fight for anybody. Vander had to perform out of his skin to succeed. Bowe would have to box his safest and smartest fight of his career. Any laziness could see him in a world of hurt. Saying that , i believe he would shut Foreman out knowing how dangerous he was.
Yeah, the fridge in the bedroom pretty much sums up how serious an athlete Bowe was, he was finished by the time he fought golota. Bowe was awesome against holyfield first fight. Excellent big man, with wicked inside skills..
C'mon man! You should know I don't do the A, B, C triangle theory thing! I think Bowe could stand and slug with Foreman. It's not like Stewart, Morrison, Moorer, Savarese and Schultz weren't able to stay in the pocket and brawl when they wanted to. Foreman isn't going to be walking through Bowe's power shots.
