Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

I don't know this guy, but most likely Floyd has to school him badly. It's a ridiculous fight and will influence Floyd's legacy negatively but he chose money over legacy and I do not blame him for that, I would probably do the same. Boxers are fighters and businessmen these days, but they are not warriors.

This fight will be Boxing vs. MMA. Floyd has to school him and knock him out.

Terrible fight, though it could be a chance to attract new fans to the sport with the amount of people that will watch this. Sadly I don't think Mayweather is the man to attract them.
If an MMA Vs boxer fight has to happen I would rather it was someone else representing boxing

 

The most stupid fight ever. Casual fans are destroying the sport. I wouldn't mind if they all just **** off to MMA and UFC and boxing becomes an elitist aristocratic sport. Let them watch Ronda and Conor while we appreciate the masters.

 

That's a ridiculous comparison. Ali vs Inoki was a psudo-wrestling match with one guy lying on his back kicking Ali's legs. This will be strictly a boxing match. It's not an exhibition. Conor has his boxing license, and it's expected to be a 12 round boxing match.

I also think people are going a little overboard not giving Conor any chance whatsoever. Obviously Floyd is going to be favored with it being strictly a boxing match, but this is a 40 years old Floyd vs a young hungry lion like McGregor who will be super motivated to shock the world. I think this could be a very interesting fight and Conor could really press Floyd and give him a tough fight. Anybody who has boxing skill, which McGregor does, has a puncher's chance vs Floyd. There's always that chance that Conor could land something big on Floyd. This isn't just a complete mis-match like it's being made out to be. If this fight happens, McGregor is going to train his ass off and get himself in the best shape of his life. The pre-fight buildup will be hugely entertaining and I wouldn't be surprised if the fight delivers and is a way better fight than Pacquiao vs Mayweather was.

I'd like to see McGregor forced to fight some lower level guys first and then some journeyman cab driver KTFOs him out of the cage (Conor is that bad that this would actually hapen). Would like to see the face on Dana White and Floyd while Conor is carried on a stretcher and their billion dollar fight is gone.

 

LMAO please stop. Conor has no boxing skills, he's a 0-0 "boxer". Katie Taylor would outbox him. He is bellow club level fighters. It's like thinking that someone who is good at futsal can play for FC Barcelona.

Conor isn't a boxer. Mayweather is a boxer, and an incredibly skilled boxer. He'll clown Conor.

The fight is an exhibition, it's a sideshow. Now, it will count on Mayweather's record and a lot of money will be made, but it will be a farce if it takes place.

It's not an accident that Conor is supposedly like a 25-to-1 underdog.

Mayweather is old, but he still has his defensive skills intact, I'm sure, and he will embarrass McGregor and the fans will feel scammed. Except for Mayweather fans. For boxing fans, it'll be a joke. I'm scared it will be Mayweather vs Pacquiao II and make boxing look even worse than it did after that bout.

Still, both men will make money and if people want to see Ali vs Inoki 2, then they can do that.
