Let's look at Ali's KO's against decent level real heavyweights.

Sonny Liston: Retired on the stool with shoulder problems. The second fight was the most heavily contested KO in heavyweight history. The referee did not start the count.

Cleveland Williams: Williams was gunshot prior to the bout. Could not train probably came in to the fight with a limp.

Ron Lyle: The referee stops the fight without a proper knockdown.

Alvin Lewis: Referee stops the fight. Lewis being on his legs but extremely exhausted.

Zora Folley: Folley was only 202 pounds and 11 years older than Ali.

George Foreman: A contested KO due to the circumstances. Foreman was held captive by the resigne. Foreman was life threatened and had to import food from the USA. Ali's trainer admitted to manipulating the ropes. Ali's co-trainer claimed he paid the cooks to poison Foreman. Foreman to this very day insists he was poisoned. Foreman "I climed into the ring with that medicinal taste still lingering in my mouth."

Anthony Joshua just beats his oppoents violently until they collapse. With Ali it is hard to find one valid understandable KO against decent real heavyweights.

James Smith please don't be selective with Ali opponents. Ali was the only fighter to stop
iron chinned Oscar Bonavena. Ali knocked him down 3 x in 15 rd to retain NBAF title. Oscar
went 2x the distance with Frazier in 66 ( came close to ko Frazier ) and 68 and went
distance with prime Lyle 74 one year before Foreman fight.

It was 15 rounds, so does not count since modern fights last only 12 rounds. If Ali had power, which he does not he would of stopped him far earlier. Since this is by modern standards against real heavyweights today, it does not count.

When joshua has cleaned out his division and become a household name we can start a serious conversation. Until then, he's just a talented big guy who has knocked out tomato cans. Any idiot can do that. Quality=/=quantity.

Ali was the only one to stop foreman, bonavena, and lamar clark Only one of 2 people to stop frazier and liston. Its actually a lot harder to ko an opponent while moving away from them and throwing arm punches yet Ali still had a respectable 61% stoppage rate. He never learned how to really be the aggressor, sit on his punches and hit like a big man. In his prime he was knocking dudes out silly with blinding speed and flurries they didnt see coming.

I wouldnt call a guy "feather fisted" until their ko rate drops way below the 50% mark...you know because mathematically thats considered "average". Also, i dontt recall anyone just walking through and ignoring his punches. At heavyweight, if you have a good chin and the other guy truly lacks power it should be a piece of a cake to smother their punches and walk them down. As for his power compared to other champs, no. James Braddock was pretty feather fisted and sharkey didnt have a lot of power. Tony tubbs lacked power but had good ring iq and hand speed. The more recent chris byrd or holyfield lacked raw power. All these guys had other things that matter like technique, defense, timing, cardio, heart, etc (stuff casual fanboys like yourself overlook). You clearly havent done your research.

As heavyweights go he was pretty light punching...If u made a top 10 of the best ever he'd defo be the standout for non punch power...He had speed that made up for it though..I cant think of one worthy heavy that ali punches harder than

No. People say Tyson Fury is a feather fist but he hits harder than David Haye and these newbies think Haye hits as hard as Mike Tyson :nut:

As already pointed out in my first post. Those stoppages had nothing to do with Ali's punching power.

So you can lump a guys face up and knock their mouth piece out without punching power?

You can knock down and knock out 3 iron chinned guys for the only time in their careers without having punching power...?

When Ali landed on lyle, he didnt see the punch coming. It was a very subtle, sneaky right hand and it went straight to lyles legs. If the ropes werent there, he would have fell on his back.

No but you certainly have not done your research. As I have already shown in my original post those KO's had nothing to do with Ali's punching power.

Mr James Smith / Galvo said this wasn't a legit stoppage because Lyle didn't go down!
