Most boxers begin their career by fighting a few journeymen/weaker opponents such as Guillermo Rigondeaux, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather.. Even the great Charlie Zelenoff

Lomachenko started off against a decent opponent for an international title and then went on to challenge for the vacant WBO title for his second professional fight.

Now that Lomachenko is a world champion his quality of opponents can't fall much and he already has some good wins with Gary Russell Jr and Nicholas Walters.

Are there many other boxers who have done a similar thing?

really? if the stories are true, Loma's resume would look a lot better if Arum didn't lowball his potential opponents

He has solid wins. Russell went on to win a title after losing to him, Walters was a former champion, and he demolished Martinez, who was a titleholder.

I expect him to put on another masterclass against Sosa.

If he becomes undisputed at 130, he will be on track.

Greatest resume of all time? Nowhere near.
No matter what he does, the level of competition
(the names), that he beats just wont be there.

That isn't a knock on Loma, it's just that the people
he beat aren't gonna be household commodities.

    Hagler, Duran, Hearns, Benitez, Leonard
    Morales, Barrera, Marquez, Pac
    Floyd, Pac, Oscar
    Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Holmes
These are just a few examples,

Everyone had big names that were peers, beating
other greats made the resumes great. Loma
    won't have that.

No. Lomachenko isn't going to have that long of a career.

No. Most of the greatest fighters of all time had titles by the time they were 20 and guys like Robinson beat 46 guys ranked in the top 10. At his current rate, Lomachenko would have to keep his title until he was 50 to outdo Robinson. The ****in' ignorance around here.

Frazier? Foreman? Norton? HOLMES? You must be joking, mate! Compare aforementioned guys' records with Lomachenko's one! So far Loma has fought 7xtimes in the paid ranks.
Frazier's opponent nr.7 was a guy called Charley Polite 3-4,Foreman's one a guy named Vernon Clay 7-4,Norton nr7 was Wayne Kindred 5-3,Holmes ' nr 7 was Kevin Isaac2-0,and Ali the great fought Duke Sabedong 15-11. Lomachenko's fight record is head and shoulder above your mentioned fighters when they had 7 pro fights under their belts.
Household names? You are speaking about the USA,arent you!
It all depends on your residence and in which part of the world you live.
Most people in other countries have never heard of Morales,Barerra,Marquez,Benitez or Hearns.Who is the present best known pro fighter out there right now?
Floyd?? Haha! He is very little known outside the states.
    Pac? Could be?
My guess is Wlad Klitschko as he is a household name is many countries and his fights are shown in almost every country of this planet. In terms of popularity no American fighter can hold a candle to him.
Well, popularity doesnt automatically mean a great resume.
Even if Loma will remain a little known fighter outside his native Ukraine and some neighbouring countries his resume is the best ever so far for a pro fighter with just 7 fights under his belt.
And yes, he has the potential to be the best fighter of
    all times.

    Impossible.
It is virtually impossible to crack Top 10. Duran is the last person to do it and that was a guy who was prime in the 70's...40 years ago!

Lomachenko is 29 years old and has around 3 years left max, of his prime. When he moves up to 135 despite being in prime age, he will cease to be prime Loma because of the big size difference.

He can however, earn the title of being considered 'the best ever' if he beats everyone impressively.
