Teiken Promotions and Arum have opened negotiations for vacant WBA regular
title. Arum says " While N'Dam wants the fight to take place in France, Mr Honda
and i think the fight would do extremely well in Japan and were are pulling all stops
in trying to bring it there " ( 21/03/17)

If Murata beats N'Dam, then he reaches contender status.

Top contender status I'd say. N'dam is for real, he's only lost to Lemieux and Quillin.

Murata is a giant by Japanese standards, right?

How is there still a "regular" WBA MW title? Why don't the WBA just get rid of it! It seems the perfect opportunity to do so after GGG v Jacobs

This is kinda pathetic. The WBA keeps saying they want to get rid of their multiple belts by having only one champion in each weight class, but they never miss a chance to get those belts back into the mix...

    Update on WBA
Middleweight - Jacobs lost his regular champions status last weekend. N'Dam and Murata
will now fight for the regular title which will replace N'Dam interim title and the winner will
most likely become mandatory for GGG in the future.
Welterweight - The WBA says it will order Thurman to fight Peterson (interim title ) in the
future which will fully consolidate the weight class.
Featherweight - WBA will order Santa Cruz - Mares rematch which will fully unify the super
    and regular titles.
Junior Featherweight - The WBA is holding a purse bid for Rigondeaux vs Flores on April 3
which will unify the super and interim titles.
Right now the WBA have 30 titles in 18 classes. If the fights mentioned above go ahead
there will be 26 and only be a few mandatories away from having one champion per class.

N'dam is basically the title gatekeeper- beat him, and you're at least a top contender.

Murata hasn't developed as I've expected. I think N'dam's got this

N'dam is a highly skilled fighter with poor balance. Big step up for Murata after only a dozen fights.
Going to lean N'dam but if Murata wins very impressive
