Calzaghe probably didn't even know who Dawson was when he retired, the guy was a nobody who got steamrollered by Glen Johnson and has one of the worst Glass Jaws in boxing today.

Cazlaghe and Kessler both would have annihilated Glass Jaw Dawson, you've been on the forum 2 seconds and already your posts are very, very low quality. Seems to be a trend.

Yeah you know the Dawson that beat Adamek, Tarver x2, and Johson x2, the same Johnson that Calzaghe signed to fight, and then feigned injury multiple times to try and get out of the fight. Then when Johnson was like **** it, after getting strung along for a year, Calzaghe is miraculously healed, and signs to fight some bum immediately.

He got steamrollered in the first Johnson fight as well as getting knocked down. It showed Dawsons complete lack of adaptability when he just hemorrhaged rounds to Johnson because he had no boxing brain. It's no surprise he got beat by the likes of Karpency.

Joe had freakish stamina and was a natural boxer puncher. I don't give him too much credit for the Roy Jones fight, Jones was done, but he did edge Bhops, tamed Kessler, and dominated Lacy. I think Joe would edge Ward too and both would have a trilogy. 1 win apiece with 1 draw. The best of Joe always showed in his biggest fights.

I'm not a big Ward, fan, I respect his skill though. Hopkins wasn't prime at light heavyweight, he was still good. Imagine if that old Hopkins had the athleticism of the pre Trinidad Hopkins. That would be an all time great light heavyweight.

Back to what you are saying. Hopkins' peak was around the Trinidad fight. That is about six years prior to fighting Calzaghe at light heavyweight. He wasn't even in good health for the Wright or Calzaghe fights, according to Mackie Shilstone, Freddie Roach, and John David Jackson. Blown up welterweight? Trinidad moved up in weight, and pretty much destroyed everybody he faced. Whooped young athletic and undefeated David Reid at 154. Beat the **** out of Mamadu Thiam, made that dude look like some **** on Ancient Aliens. He then whooped Vargas's ass. Moved up to middleweight and destroyed WBA Champ William Joppy. After losing to Hopkins, he beat down another top 10 middleweight in Hacine Cherifi. So what do you mean blown up welterweight? Trinidad was just as much a legit middleweight, as old man Hopkins was a legit light heavyweight. Some of you dudes kill me with that line of reasoning. That's like me saying that Calzaghe's best win, is a controversial majority decision, over an old, blown up middleweight.

True Hopkins was a tactician, who's style changed over time as his athletic ability diminished. But again, I had to chuckle, at you stating Calzaghe would have steam rolled a young Hopkins.

Of course Hopkins looked great against a blown up Welterweight, Felix beat Joppy...great a guy with 1 faded name on his resume who then lost his next fight after Hopkins, how many times after did he fight? he barely fought at MW let alone destroyed everyone lol.

Hopkins beating who he did after Calzaghe was way more impressive, he destroyed Pavlik right after, he was in prime before Calzaghe he was beating blown up ww's and after Calzaghe he was beating bigger men, as i said of course he looked great smashing small men.

Calzaghe smashed a prime Hopkins and he was blown up, aged much worse due to his style and had brittle bones along with fighting in Hopkins backyard.

Dawson won that fight clearly, judges got it right, and some of you need your eyes checked. Not sure why you would even make **** up. Dawson was never knocked down by Johnson. That sounds like something that haters make up on boxing forums, and pass along as truth to people who didn't even see the fight, and then they go spewing the falsehood creating myths.

He dominates everyone in the competition including Ward, who he'd beat 8-4 or 7-5.

Ward 'THE GOLD MEDALIST' (Who's been winning most of those lately??) was out boxed and given a GIFT in his last outing but is now talking about retirement and SLEAZING his way out of a rematch. Lol! You sure you wanna mention 'heart' and Ward in the same sentence?? Calzaghe retired undeafeated and was NEVER, EVER given a gift decision like Ward was against Sergey ;) Remember that.

And if you watch the highlights of Joe AT HIS BEST (He wasn't prime when he beat TRT exemption Hopkins) he was way faster, fluid and WAY more entertaining than ****ing Ward. Just a superior boxer. And take a look at how this poll is going! I think most agree Joe at his best would have cleaned house in the Super 6 :D

He didn't win that fight clearly at all, it was embarrassing really and showed his level when he just couldn't adapt to Johnson's very basic style and lost round after round. It was 7-5 Dawson at the MOST.

He would have won, of course. Levels exist in boxing and we will talk about them.

Ward will rematch Kovalev, unlike the Cowardly Lion of Wales who refused to rematch Hopkins.
