Floyd fought the number 2 guy in marquez in his first fight back why did ward want 4 easy fights before a big fight?

yeh man ward ducked a guy in a lower division then him to move up a division and fight a better, higher ranked and more proven fighter in kovalev.

Marquez was never the number 2 guy

Floyd cherrypicked him by dragging him up 3 divisions

Here's the reason Ward wanted 2 tune ups - he wanted to earn as much money as he could from boxing without having to face the Kovalevs and Beterbievs of the world

Those two "tune ups" will have made him a very rich man now, so good luck Sergei on that rematch clause, let alone Artur

Wasn't Pacquiao dragged up a few divisions for Cotto and Oscar?

Kovalev is a better fighter than GGG and he's two weight classes larger, Im glad ward fought sergey and not GGG

So if he caused the layoff, he doesn't need a tune up fight? I don't understand...lol

Lol exactly. A layoff is a layoff, didn't know the cause of the layoff had any bearings on it's effect.
