Yamanaka top 10 is inexplicable. Otherwise, Ring's p4p isn't as laughable as it used to be. You can't complain much about Ward if you think he lost to Kovalev, because Ring has Kovalev right behind him. But should we really be calling a guy p4p who barely scraped out a disputed win? Ring needs to clue in, Lomachenko is simply the best boxer in the world today.

Here's my p4p update. This was what I had in December:
    1. Lomachenko
    2. Rigondeaux
    3. Gonzalez
    4. Ward
    5. Kovalev
    6. Inoue
    7. Crawford
    8. Mikey Garcia
    9. Golovkin
    10. Estrada

    And now:
    1. Lomachenko
    2. Rigondeaux
    3. Ward
    4. Kovalev
    5. Inoue
    6. Crawford
    7. Mikey Garcia
    8. Gonzalez
    9. Estrada
    10. Usyk
    11. Spence
    12. Golovkin
    13. Lara
    14. Jacobs
    15. Canelo
    16. Brook
    17. Linares
    18. Nietes
    19. Thurman
    20. Pacquiao

I didn't have GGG top 5 like a lot of you did. We saw against Brook that he's vulnerable to movement, and against a smart boxer who's his size and could take his punch he sure didn't have his way. I thought Jacobs won close. That should mean he's better on my p4p. But I think GGG beats other fighters more impressively than Danny would. And I think even during rounds I thought Jacobs won Golovkin often looked the better fighter. I don't know, it's hard to rate Jacobs. I extended to 20 to show that I think both GGG and Jacobs are elite and where they stand, even if they're not quite top 10.

I thought Gonzalez was plainly robbed and generally looked really good against Rungvisai. His combination punching skill might still be the best in boxing. However, he was in really close fights against Estrada and Cuadras, and he should've boxed smarter against Rungvisai and not given him the chances he did. I need to reappraise him. I would confidently pick Inoue to beat him, and I don't think he's as good as Ward, Kovalev, Crawford, or Garcia.

How can you be a top #1 fighter if you refuse to rematch a fight that fight fans from AROUND THE WORLD would love to see. If you talk about retirement over rematching a fantastic fan please then you don't deserve the #1 spot.

    6. Rigo

Ward and Kovalev were number one and 2 on my personal list prior to
Gonzalez "losing". I can't really say where Gonzalez should be
as admittedly I don't follow his divisions at all however.
Golovkin shouldn't be higher than Rigo, Loma or Crawford.
There's no reason for Canelo to be on the list at all as I don't think
he's even the top 3 in either division he's campaigned at

I don't believe Gonzalez should be penalized for this "loss" anymore than Ward should be rewarded for his "win"

P4P is about perception not strict official results. Ward was outboxed by Kovalev in his only noteworthy fight in the last few years. Gonzalez overcame brutal cuts from fouls and an early knockdown to outfight a larger rated southpaw.

Gonzalez is still my #2 behind Loma.

Great list I would put Thurman on there in place of Inoue and push Gonzalez down to no. 8 or 9 personally.

Neither of those things happened. They may off in your mind but the reality is Ward won, Gonzalez lost.

If you want to be a tool that's your prerogative.

The reality is Gonzalez and Kovalev were robbed of hard earned wins in the eyes of most observers. Two Champions lost their belts and 0s because of poor judging, and if a P4P list is about perception, then they have not lost any ground.

Your no.1 is a guy who is 7-1 & your no. 2 is guy who hasn't fought twice in like the last 2 years. My God how can Inoue who has fought no one of note be considered higher than Crawford who holds two belts and beat the no.2 in his division easily?
