You're all over this forum praising GGG. I think the fight was closer than you say but I agree with this post. Triple G did flash some impressive defense in this bout. He caught a ton of jabs with his gloves as well as hooks and he slipped under some hooks that were thrown in combinations after him. Very underrated defense. In fact the best punches Jacobs landed was once in a clinch where he freed his left hand and came over the top and in the 11th right before the bell two hooks. Other than that he didn't mount many flush shots

 

I'm a GGGoon and I'm always saying that Golovkin has a great defence ... when he bothers to use it. I watched a lot of his earlier fights and he used to slip and parry and use distance to control the other guy's offense all the time. I think Sanchez convinced him that shipping a few shots makes things more interesting, I dunno. But when he's fighting guys like Jacobs and Lemieux that are dangerous he goes back to basics.
