Do any of y'all know about both the concept of boxing AND business?

Triple G was an invincible MW knocking everyone out, and nobody can even go 12 with him. Then last Saturday happened, and he was outboxed by a non top 30 p4p guy, while very few bought the PPV fight. This will be Triple G's 2nd low selling PPV out of two. He's not a PPV draw.

Canelo's about to sell 800-1MM+ PPV's with JCCjr, has sold 350k ppv's against bums, sold 2mm ppv's with Floyd etc. He is a PPV draw and will be bringing in most of the buys. He will have all the cards at the negotiating table. 80/20 is as high as I would go if I was Oscar.

Now to boxing. As always Triple G's style is tailor made for Canelo's. However we now know that; Triple G's defense is leaky, his boxing IQ isn't that high, he's not a great boxer, is slow and can't make adjustments. He does have pretty good power. Canelo can either outbox him or TKO by body shots now. Can't wait.

 

I have Always said a percentage based Split and the fight will happen...thank God finally some common sense....and if it's not 60/40 Canelos Favor If I was Golovkin I would tell Oscar to take a Jump and leave Canelo Beltless.!!!!

Having actually done business before, I can only say this: you are 100% correct. People that do serious business on the basis of a ****en handshake end up with ulcers from stress and in court. My old boss used to work like this. I was always trying to straighten his sh*t out.

 

You don't get it, and seriously don't know WTF you're talking about... moparfan is tied to boxing and a friend of Kevin kingpin Johnson and worked his corner and all that good stuff, and he agreed that before contracts can be drafted up, there has to be a verbal agreement, That's negotiations, That's BOXING... These are facts.

Serious business can start with a verbal agreement and a statement of intent. In fact it almost invariably does. But serious business cannot proceed until it's on paper and the details have been hashed out. That's the way it is. Even assuming the best possible intentions on both sides, people misunderstand each other. People forget things and the details can change as scircumstances change. Black on white is the only way to proceed.

lol according to this Canelo should of fought him ages ago,clearly you ain't been watching cause if you had you'd of noticed Canelo struggles against those with a decent jab,GGGs just happens to be one of the best.

Lol esp in boxing where talk means nothing,so surprised how many jumped on Oscars bone,just to be clear from Oscar so far we've had GGG ain't fought anyone good enough to share a ring with Canelo,Canelo ain't a middleweight and needs to grow into his body more and only last month it was a good chance Chavez v Canelo could be a three fight job,for the record I've never been of the opinion that 15 million was a bad offer from Oscar,my opinion has always been that it was never an offer to begin with,or are we to believe that it was supposed to be something like they both h made a deal to fight in September in the knowledge that either could lose their next fights in the meantime,if there's a precedence for it by all means show me?
