According to Dan Rafael in a chat, he said that the date was june 17 in Mandalay Bay, also Sergey Kovalev apparently signed his contract and is waiting for Ward to sign it.

I wouldn't want to be a Ward hater when/if the rematch gets made.

Fingers crossed it happens. Fekking hate Ward wana see him get destroyed but im not as confident in that as much as i was before the 1st fight, infact im not confident at all. Ward just seems to be able to get job done.

Sweet! This is a bit of unexpected good news. :D I fully expect Kovalev to finish what he started :deal:

I wonder it somehow Ward is getting paid more?

    Let me guess...
Ward just sent a low ball offer thinking that Kovalev would not sign the contract and then put the blame on him. But surprise...Kovalev signed it and Ward is stunned ATM. Ward will find another excuse to make sure this fight doesn't happen.

And let's be honest, the judges got the job done for him. I don't know what Ward can bring to the table that he hasn't shown in the first fight.

I did think Kovalev won that 1st fight and the judges unsurprisingly favoured Ward but it was definatly a close one. Ward was very much in that fight after the knock down. Do you think Kovalev can bring much more to the rematch than what he showed in the 1st fight?

Absolutely. And it's all about stamina. If he's able to bring the same kind of energy he had in the early rounds, there's no reason why he wouldn't win a second time against Ward.

Heard all these lines before the first fight. And even before the Barrera fight. Ward never gets the benefit of the doubt for some reason.

I'm not a fan of Ward in recent years.

But I'm fine with this rematch, I want it. I hope it will be a Pac/Bradley or Lewis/Holyfield situation. Ideally, I would love to see an Augustus/Burton repeat.

I recall the Bradley/Pac rematch situation well on this forum. Many tried to twist that robbery into a win for Bradley and predicted he would come out better in the rematch.

Ward/Kovalev was nothning like Pacquaio/Bradley I. It was much, much, much closer than that.

People said that back then too. "Pac/Bradley I was actually close...it was just biased HBO commentary" blah blah.

No, Ward/Kovalev really wasn't that close.

It was to me. In fact, I thought Ward did enough to get the nod before the decision was announced. You can check it out in the rbr thread. It wasn't a robbery.

I think the Krusher gets it done this time, and we get a trilogy

Been a while since we had a good one of those I think we're due
