hi guys, im boxing for charity 1 week today and dont know how to tell if im 100% ready as soon as i know i am i can get over that mental barrier and can go into it confident, fight is 3x2minute rounds with 1 minute rest some training ive been doing: did a 4k with hill sprints and stairs in around 30 minutes sparred 5x2minute rounds at 50% with 30 seconds rest and 5 burpees during rest.. could maybe of done 1 or 2 more.. but then again i am a southpaw and pretty much every punch i throw is a counter punch or just the jab im not a pressure fighter but move around alot.. all training has been tabata/power style with very little running just sprints and time specific to the fight time and im currently shadowing 6 rounds, then continously hitting the bag for 12 minutes, ranging from 2 mins inside, 2 mins at range and 2 mins all out knockout punches, IS THERE ANY TESTS I CAN DO THAT WILL GIVE ME A PURE INDICATION IF IM READY AS ADRENALINE IS GOING TO GET ME ON THE NIGHT!! TIA
No I'm not ready or no there's no tests? How do you know when you're ready? This is my first contest Thanks for the reply
What does it even mean to be ready for a fight? You'll NEVER be 100% ready. You could fall over and injure yourself hours before the fight. You could have a perfect training cycle but not eat enough before the fight and gas out. You could have a massive adrenaline dump pre-fight and freeze up or again, gas out. Basically, winning or losing comes down to how you perform on the day. Train correctly, eat right, get your sleep and get in the ring and fight when your fight is scheduled. It really is as simple as that.
