It was for the WBC Silver welterweight title, yeah the quality isn't great. This content is protected
Charles Manyuchi has to be the biggest showboater in boxing right now. I wondered how far his style would take him before inevitably getting KTFO. Well I guess the moment has arrived... Still a tricky fighter for people who can't KO him, he beat the highly respected Mikhaylenko. BTW it's interesting how these African fighters have so many different styles. I like them, they bring something new to the table. Most of them seem to have the raw talent but just aren't guided or coached correctly though...
Indeed, props to Qudratillo for becoming the first person to stop Manyuchi and winning the WBC Silver strap
It's a nice scalp for him. I wanted Manyuchi to win though, I'd love to see him upsetting some big name with his showboating style and then getting KTFO on a bigger stage.
Well deserved KO loss... Show your opponent respect, especially if he's an undefeated prospect with a good amateur pedigree.
It's not that he wasn't showing respect, that's just the way he boxes. Watch him against a very decent Mikhaylenko. Exactly the same tricks and clowning, exactly the same both hands down style. Maybe he was a bit more cocky here but it's basically what he always does. He's the biggest showboater in boxing. Mikhaylenko caught him plenty of times but I guess he didn't have the power to punish him and KTFO him, so he struggled with this unorthodox style and lost on the cards.
Agree with that, he's like drunken master but different. I love different styles boxing is chess not checkers.
Boxing needs fighters like him badly. I don't care if he loses every second fight against decent boxers as long as he does his showboating and brings it. Very entertaining fighter. I think that he has the style to upset some big names who're just stylistically great opponents for him (maybe some pillowfisted technical fighters who wouldn't be able to establish a jab due to his athletic upperbody movement and explosive countering).
Honest question, do you think someone with Charles Manyuchi style could give Mayweather fits for at least few rounds? Can't KO him, can't time him (since he has no real boxing "timing" but just baits and counters with explosiveness and speed and punches with every punch in the book), probably can't outspeed him. Mayweather would have to go on a bike and just move laterally and pot shot, but Manyuchi seems to have fast feet and would follow him immediately and then stand right in front of him and do his ultra-athletic upper body movement thing and bait him into some weird exchanges. Would love to see Mayweather against an unorthodox showboating ultra-athletic fighter just to see what he would do to win.
Manyuchi makes a lot of mistakes and Abduqaxorov is well schooled, I had a feeling he could exploit them easily, but damn I thought Manyuchi would last longer than a round.
