So you are looking at end of career Calzaghe at a new higher weight rather than prime Calzaghe. Still KDs happen, but lets not pretend he was nearly KOd because he wasnt. He got up and was the aggressor. Hopkins got knocked down twice by Mercado. You seem to be clutching at straws

Yet Froch has looked far more hurt than Calzaghe ever did in his career. Froch was knocked down by Taylor and Groves and was badly wobbled against Dirrell.
Calzaghe also builds momentum, more so than Froch.
Froch I think was tired and fatigued against Ward. He had been on the road for 5 of his last 6 fights having faced every original S6 member as well as Johnson and he seemed fatigued there and saying he felt like an old man and was thinking about getting back for xmas

How do they have better resumes? This will be good when you try and explain this one. The best SMW on Ward and Frochs resume is a faded double vision suffering Kessler who beat Froch. Calzaghe beat prime Kessler and has a wealth of other top SMW names. The fact you wrote that tells me you dont have a clue

Are they in his top 5? Better than Eubank, Kessler, Hopkins, Mitchell, Jones? If you put Manfredo above any of them that really does sum up how little you know as I would have Woodhall, Reid, Brewer, Bika, Lacy, Sheika, Mkertchyan, Veit above him and others also that I didnt bother mentioning

Wards next best SMW win is Froch who lost to faded Kessler that Calzaghe beat when prime. So not as good there either.
Ward fights a faded rusty Bika that Calzaghe had already beaten. So not as good as that win of Calzaghes
Ward beat Allen who lost to faded, boiled down Johnson who when prime lost to Sheika to box Calzaghe, who calzaghe easily beat.
Ward beat Abraham who was on a run of 1-2 and not as good a SMW win as many of Calzaghes but I will say Reid

With this you are going to try to tell me Wards resume is better? You cant.
You can say Kovalev at LHW and Kovalevs best win before that was arguably Hopkins who Calzaghe beat years previously

Kessler was overrated too just like Sloppy Joe who would've got decimated by a prime Bhop and Roy. Hell I would've liked to see him fight Tarver. You're wasting time. Go hang out with Todd in the lounge. You're boy didn't want none of Froch. Too busy powdering his nose.

Even if Kessler was overated as you put it. He beat Froch when he was coming off a loss, faded and with vision problems.
Calzaghe was closer to the end of his career than Hopkins or Jones when he fought them and newer to the weight.
Why would Calzaghe fight Tarver when he was able to fight and beat the fighter that schooled Tarver.
Calzaghe didnt want any of Froch as Froch was a British champ and Calzaghe was taking on a bigger challenge in Hopkins at LHW. The same Hopkins that posters seemed to favour over Froch years later when the fight was mentioned and one where Froch felt it was a fight he could lose

 

Here's what would have happened. Kessler and AA were projected to win the tournament. Who ended up winning? Ward did. If Joe was in he would've been projected to win but he would've lost. Dirrel had a good chance at beating him. Stop hyping guys up.

 

JC was younger and bigger than both Roy and Bhop. It's not very impressive at all. Joe is never a talking point other than on forums. Bhop with an "L" will always be rated higher than the JC. Ward already is and always will be as well. Froch has faced far better opponents than JC. JC wasn't even as big as Ricky Hatton. Once Ricky got checked hooked, only then did he get some burn. I'm American. We don't hype our guys up as much as others do elsewhere in the world. Our fighters don't get passes as do others in the world and our fighters are held to higher standards period. Stop wasting my time.

I didn't say he was a bum. I just said he's overrated. Ward took on a bigger challenge in Kov than Joe Calzaghe ever took in his career. Your guys 2 best wins were against old man. Don't get so butthurt. He pulled essentially a Tyson Fury at his height of relevance. The spot light was getting to big and I don't fault him for it. He did his thing and rode off into the sunset. I'm just tired of fighters never being put into perspective and getting overblown. It's gets so old and people don't learn their lessons. Joe is HOF. Not an ATG.

 

Hold Calzaghe and G to the standards you hold Ward and Floyd to. This is why this whole argument is a waste of time. You guys try to hard to have your cake and eat it too. It's pathetic lmao
