The Jacobs from GGG fight makes it tough on Froch. Jacobs on the streak he was on before GGG would have been a fun fight with Froch in a who lands first contest. Otherwise Froch grinds out a competitive but clear decision. Froch had a lot of courage and heart but his defense was terrible.
Its a war.. I think ggg's a better fighter than froch quite obviously to me. I just think ggg's average size for middle and froch is a big super middle I think. Without his hard work and dedication, which is above average imo Froch would be a light heavy..Froch wins as u say imo
It could go either way imo. GGG version of Jacobs could not be stopped plus his style is all wrong for Froch who doesn´t like to just go forward. On the other hand, his resume shows he is able to fight against odds and go for win. I say 50/50
Dj would light torch up like the Christmas tree in NYC, froch is easily the most over rated of the smw belt holders I can even think of. I see froch lasting the distance and even looking like he's winning some rounds, but he won't land hardly anything, and froch is not bigger than Dj. Why does it have to be the froch that beat Bute ? It's not like that was a super froch, that was froch saving his (or making) career against I chiny and highly vulnerable 4/6 round fighter when fighting very low level journeyman.. Now that I think of it, Bute is the most over rated smw with froch being the 2nd most over rated. The talent gap is far too great for a froch to over come from a 30 yr old Dj
Agreed. Put it this way a 35-year-old Froch vs GG at 35, @168, is a no-brainer based on what we saw against Jacobs...
Seems our fans are so devoted to the sport they love (trolling) most refuse to acknowledge styles make fights and DJ style with his skill makes for a terrible night for Froch. The Froch from groves 1, dirrel is the same Froch as the Bute one. He was fighting different opponents, DJ has the talent to land at will and to not get caught by Froch. Froch is very slow, if DJ just stood and traded, that'd be a pick em, but we know that's not a possibility
35 yr old Froch? I don't remember when he retired, wasn't he 35 or 36 ? All I know, for certain, is ggg would absolutely abuse any age Froch and a 30 yr old DJ would out box Froch, as clearly as dirrel (when dirrel decided to throw) it was a mismatch in that ring
The thing we have to understand about Froch, for someone who was an elite level performer in sport, he is remarkably full of self-doubt. It's why Groves refusing to give him respect riled him so much, when he shouldn't really have cared. Before the first Groves fight he was so sure of victory he lacked motivation and was under-prepared. For the 2nd fight, and having come so close to defeat in the first, he was driven. Groves and Fitzpatrick made the mistake of playing on these insecurities in the build-up to the remtach but failed to grasp these insecurities are what made Froch train harder. They motivated him with the mind games, having the opposite effect to the one they hoped to achieve. So Froch saying 'avoid like the plague' re: GG has little negative significance really. Had he taken the fight, the ultimate fear of losing - maybe getting stopped for the first time in his career - would have seen him in the best shape of his life. And an in-shape Froch is a living nightmare for GG. If you consider what is required to beat GG (other than slick skills, which is another debate) it's a naturally bigger fighter (at 168) who is strong enough to push him back, make him fight inside and rough him up, with a iron chin to enable him to get close often enough and super-human stamina. Froch, basically. After watching GG vs Jacobs, I am convinced Froch had the beating of GG.
I actually agree with you now. Before I thought GGG would walk through Froch, but Froch would be way too much for the little one at 168.
I know you guys will call me crazy but I'm picking Jacob's to decision Froch. I give Froch no more than a puncher's chance.
