ABOUT VARYING OPINIONS ON THIS FIGHT- I was out of town at a location where there was no service showing the fight, so I used my laptop to follow round by round updates. I stuck with one site for about 4 rounds before the updates slowed way down, then found another site. According to the boxing expert on the first site Golovkin was up by 5 points after 4 rounds- every round plus the kd. I landed on the second site just as they posted their comments for round 5. On this site they had the score even after 5 rounds- Jacobs 3 rounds, Golovkin 2 plus the kd. This was really as though these 2 analysts were not watching the same fight. Assuming these two people had at least some credentials, this goes to show that even fairly well-versed viewers often develop opinions about close fights that are polar opposites. The first site eventually came up with clear decision for Golovkin, the second site came up with a 1 point victory for Jacobs. I have been reading the debate posted here and I think you probably both are confident in your beliefs about the fight- as well as being knowledgeable. You also came up with different results. For me, I eventually did watch the fight replay and feel that Golovkin deserved the victory and that they should consider a re-match somewhere down the road.
Hatman strikes back has a good boxing channel on YouTube. One of the least biased and very neutral voices. He had Jacobs winning. Boxnation had Jacobs winning. Harold lederman, HBOs unofficial scorer, had it 7-5 GGG (close). Mind you GGG is HBOs flagship investment. Even tho I scored it 8-4 GGG, I can see how others saw it closer. 3 of those rounds are near draws
I didn't say you was picking picking GGG mate, I never said Ward and Jacobs were similar I actually saids they are not if you read back, your mixing me up with another poster on the thread.

LOL Making out Jacobs put on some back foot display.. He was forced onto the back foot! He's not a defensive fighter by nature in the slightest. You people are in denial. Walked down by Little G LOL
Its cool I think you mistook for the person you originally replied to, I don't think they do too. Jacobs is more athletic and has pop whereas Ward is more effienct, calculated and relies on his inside rough house tactics.
You should seriously consider whether you can afford to swallow anymore of GGG's semen in the future.

I'm pretty sure you swallow it, Jacobs did it a good job and performed with credit regardless of the result.
