I thought it Was a very close Fight....then after seeing Golovkin's Face and Jacobs Face I realised Golovkin landed a lot more effective punches than Jacobs....don't think Jacob's Mother would recognise Him.!!!!
Why does defense have to be first? Its hit and not get hit back You're saying its first of all not get hit and maybe if you feel like it hit your opponent. If you had your way they wouldnt be throwing any punches at all. It would just be two guys....standing there
I have never understood this phenomena of re-watching a fight to second guess your original score. If your scoring criteria is consistent your scorecards will always be similar even upon multiple viewings.
I go by my first instinct. Any further viewings, doubts start to creep in. You want to give some rounds to this guy, some to that guy. I thought Kovalev won. I thought Jacobs won. I guess I don't know how to score fights. I will say I thought the Kov was a closer fight than the GGG fight.
First means it should take priority over everything else in a round, not that you should only consider defense and nothing else matters. It should actually be HEAVILY prioritized imo. Defense is key.
Dont be so biased guys...giving away all close rounds to Ward caused that 7-5 robbery, its the only one possible way to score for Ward and thats why all have that score. Now with Golovkin and Jacobs its about same....Jacobs won max 6 rounds and with the knockdown its not enough even for a draw, move on.
Quick question for you. If two guys don't throw one punch in a round but boxer one is constantly coming forward while the other is constantly on the back foot, how do you score the round? a)for the aggressor b)for the "runner" c) even(no one landed a punch).
Round 1: 10-9 Golovkin Round 2: 10-9 Jacobs Round 3: 10-9 Jacobs Round 4: 10-8 Golovkin Round 5: 10-9 Golovkin Round 6: 10-9 Jacobs Round 7: 10-9 Jacobs Round 8: 10-9 Jacobs Round 9: 10-9 Golovkin Round 10: 10-9 Jacobs Round 11: 10-9 Jacobs Round 12: 10-9 Jacobs 115 - 112 for Jacobs I see a lot of scorecards scoring the last round for Golovkin, I remember thinking this was a strong Jacobs round. I'll have to rewatch it.
