Where does Canelo go? Is the Golovkin fight still a viable matchup or does he need to reestablish himself ala Manny Pacquio to garner public interest back to the fight.

He could attempt to avenge his defeat to Lara, that would help to redeem himself if he could pull it off.

He wasn't really expected to win against Mayweather, but against Chavez Jr, the pressure is on him. He's more experienced by now, but even tho he's not as loudmouth as Chavez Jr, I didn't like how he claimed to be p4p #1, he hasn't looked sensational in his most important victories, only against B-C level opponents. If Chavez Jr pulls off the upset, at least Canelo will have the excuse he just couldn't handle a guy Jr's size and I think Canelo won't lose too many fans if he goes down swinging, which I think is most likely. We haven't seen Canelo hurt since Jose Cotto had him doin alil merengue.

Will it even be such a big surprise? I mean Chavez Jr. is the bigger man here and Canelo has never fought at that weight?

See how nice I am @seck, even after all of the bull**** you throw my way, I'm going to do you a favor and fix your thread title to spare you the embarrassment of everyone thinking you're an idiot for writing of instead of off and offset rather than upset.

I don't hold the Lara fight against him at all. It was the best two JrMWs at the time. Lara ran for most of the fight. Canelo landed the harder shots. Lara did land 10 more punches than Canelo but they were all jabs. Canelo landed more power punches. Close fights happen when you fight top opposition.

To be fair, Chocolatito has looked less than stellar his last two fights.

Ward had an extremely close fight with Kovalev and got KD, and vice versa Kovalev had a difficult time the second half.

Golovkin arguably lost his first real step up or at the very best looked less than impressive.

To the main point, I think Chavez has a real shot at winning if he comes in 100%, and if he does win then we can expect the rematch and wait to see what happens after that.

LMFAO at this loser that only uses compubox when it favors him. Canelo landed like 10 head shots against Lara, also he did not land all of those punches compubox counted. Most of his punches landed on the elbows and hips of Lara. You say GGG arguably lost against Jacobs when compubox had him outlanding jacobs by 60, but Canelo winning against Lara when Lara outlanded him by 10 on compubox that favored him. Don't get me wrong, the Jacobs/GGG compubox was obviously favoring GGG but at least stay consistent.
