Ukrainian cruiserweight Serhiy Radchenko (5-0), who shared the room with current IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Wladimir Klitschko’s training camp before Kubrat Pulev fight, said that Joshua is really good, intelligent and humble guy. Radchenko's interview about AJ vs Wlad sparring sessions is taken form here: http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/19...o-no-vladimir-byl-na-golovu-luchshe-radchenko “Anthony Joshua is very intelligent guy. Most of black guys in Klitschko camps, especially American guys, were extremely noisy. But Joshua, unlike them, is very polite, smart and sensible guy. And very humble, considering that he was already very popular then after winning Olympic gold medal” - said Radchenko. Serhiy also revealed what happened in the ring when Klitschko sparred Joshua. “Joshua looked pretty good in sparrings. He was probably the best and the most competitive Klitschko’s sparring partner in that camp, although it’s hard to say definitely because Wladimir boxes differently against different sparring partners, and some of the guys do not work at 100% in the sparring. And while Wladimir, who starts the sparring part of the camp right away from 12-rounds sparrings, always changes sparring partners after 2 rounds (or 3 at most), he once asked Joshua to spar 6 rounds. “So, all in all, I can tell you that Joshua looked pretty good in sparrings against Klitschko, but Wladimir was still clearly better. It looked like Joshua lacked confidence and experience then to make those sparring sessions really competitive. And, yes, he looked very decent in 6-round sparring, but I don't know how would he look if he had to go 12 against Wlad” - said Serhiy Radchenko.
I remember an interview wtih AJ after sparring Wlad and he was full of praise of the professionalism and attention to detail in Wlad's camp. I bet AJ took notes and implemented most of what he saw in his own training and camp routine.
One sided ass whooping. Nothing more nothing left. Everyone knows Joshua is levels above the old man. You will see. Greatest heavyweight since a prime Lennox Lewis. Trust me on dat.
Well at least he was there and watched it. Surely, AJ has improved and Wlad is 3 years older. As for Radchenko, he's not a talented boxer, he's a trial horse who earns money while sparring with much more talented boxers.
Just goes to show you, even an intelligent, educated former champion, doesn't have the sense to know when it's time to hang them up. I know there are many factors in deciding to take the fight, money being the most obvious, but I appreciate it when former champions pick the right time to retire.
Well, he has a rematch clause inserted, Shows you he ain't as super confident as his fanboys on here.
I think that's standard fare for champions. Wlad also had rematch clauses. I'm pretty stoked for this fight, tbh. It could be a passing of the torch moment or it could be the last shot at glory for an ATG. Neither of these guys have anything to lose. In 20 years time whoever loses will either be "too green" or "too old". I do love the fact that they are both total gentlemen and class acts. Just shows that you don't have to be a d*ck to break face.
