Why is Canelo not getting credit for moving up in weight?

Amir Khan moved up 8lbs to fight Canelo.
Brook moved up 13lbs to fight Golovkin.

But when Canelo moves up 10.5lbs to fight Chavez, no one bats an eye and everyone remains silent on the fight.

Because everybody had to listen to him and Oscar tell everybody he is not a middleweight for months and months.

Then he moved back to 154 after vacating his 160 title and then in his very next fight jumps up to 164.5 against a completely weight drained Chavez Jr.

Canelo will be fighting a walking corpse at 164.5 so he deserves no credit whatsoever.

Khan, there another weight advantage for Canelo. it was fine for Khan to jump 8lb but Canelo who held a 160 title couldn't fight another middleweight.

Brook had more bottle than Canelo, a welterweight jumped up and fought a middleweight after Canelo said he isn't a middleweight and moved back down, Brook did what Canelo was afraid to do.

There is a pattern here. Canelo looks for and maybe even needs weight advantages.

    This right here.
Even at 168 he'd get more credit.
If he fought Degale at 164.5 he'd get tons of credit

Take a wild guess as to why he chose to skip 160.

What do we do? Ticker tape parade? ;)

Here's a little (read: BIG) difference. Both Khan and Brook came in as underdogs to face a top fighter. Canelo is moving up passed where he was NOT ready (According to GBP), to face an unranked fighter, who will be the underdog.

Everyone remains silent because this is a joke of a fight that nobody cares about, and after months of DLH telling us Canelo wasn't ready for 160 to fight Golovkin he moves up to 164.5!

He is moving up to Canelo weight (a weight he picks and chooses as he pleases) and bringing opponents to his NON-official weight class and on his terms. These are usually smaller men who are forced upwards or much larger men who have to shrink down and come in very unhealthy on fight night.

He's not a true middleweight! Haven't you been listening to anything Oscar has been saying? o_O There's something wrong with the number 160 for him. :nonono

    155, yes.

    164.5, yes.

    160, no.

Scientists are working on the mystery. Meanwhile, just accept it.

Probably because it is a meaningless money fight which has absolutely no bearing on any of the actual weight divisions in the sport. It's also swings and roundabouts since Chavez hasn't made anything close to the weight for this fight in living memory.

On the other point, I don't remember too many people giving either Brook or Khan serious credit for taking the GGG/ Canelo fights, the general consensus was both had only done it for the payday and Brook should be fighting Spence/ Khan should be fighting Brook.

I thought that Brook and Khan showed huge stones in moving up to face the alpha dogs in the respective divisions. They both came to fight and imho only enhanced their legacies.
