1.I think boxing pushes boundaries in terms of stamina in ways few sports do. Power too.

2."minuscule improvements" will make a difference, edges are forever being sought, however slight, at the pinnacle of an sport.

I would add, also, they indirectly assist with the mental side of the game, making boxers feel almost superhuman and unbeatable, I suspect. But I guess all this is cancelled out when a juiced fighter takes on another juiced fighter...

I agree, but it will undoubtedly assist the mental aspect even irrespective of this placebo effect. When we hit our personal bests or perform notably well at a sport, we have extra mental vigour as opposed to days when physically we're not feeling right. I feel like the difference between a PED athlete and a non-PED athlete is like a regular person who has lined up everything to their favour vs someone who hasn't drunk any water, not eaten well for days, lower sleep and jacked off three times leading to a workout (it is argued we've all been there lol).

Most ignorant post of the day, for the internet. The truly troubling thing is this should be the absolute most ignorant post of the year, if not decade. We have so many ignorant (ignorant to the core) members and people in general, such a terrible post like this gets excused away when this SHOULD be a permanent ban scenario

Initially this thread seems silly and an obvious yes but in a certain way I say it is not. I say this because of weight classes. PEDs would be used to build muscle mass. I will use a real figther but in no way I am implying they are taking PEDs. Tim Bradley is ripped, he competes at 147. Competitively speaking he has a certain strength, stamina, and quickness that gives him an advantage at 147 from a physical perspective. If he were to compete at 160 he would be small and not have that power to carry over in that division. With the use of PEDs he can get that same body type with a bigger mass at have the same relative body comparison to other fighters in that division. So yes if someone is moving to a higher weight division and needs the bigger body mass to compete PEDs would be beneficial. However in this example a natural ripped 147 would have the same advantage as an artificially ripped 160. So no real advantage is made because the competition is now bigger. For heavyweights PEDs would be a huge advantage.

PED's are a lot more sophisticated than they used to be. They don't just help guys put on muscle - they improve almost every aspect of an athlete's performance regardless of weight class.

Maybe they can't help someone's chin - but they can improve just about everything else. Stamina, reflexes, powers of recovery etc.

In a sport where the margins between winning and losing can be so fine, taking PED's is like playing chess with three extra pieces. And they're all Queen's.

The proof is why they are banned. People who no more about this stuff than your average Joe know the benefits of PED use.

No, mostly mental. Strength will improve but then you'll gain weight which might not be optimal. PED's will not make you a better fighter by itself.

The big point of being on peds is recovery time in between day to day healing which allows stronger workouts with minimal recuperative time so you can train harder and more than you would normally without decreasing performance. This all adds into a stronger perfoprmance than normal and the Peds itself making you do more than your limitations would allow which is the edge itself.

I wonder what is more advantageous, PEDs or loaded gloves.
