Watch Jacob's against GGG to see how much better peds will make a fighter.

Even Pascal in the first fight against Kovalev, you will see what it can do for recovery and resistance.

It's what people really mean when they say "modern training methods and nutrition".

Power, speed and endurance. Endurance because they allow you to train more by reducing the recovery time.

Yeah PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) defintely work. Just like that last anti-biotic you took worked. Millions of dollars gets poured into catching 'cheats' and thats been ongoing for awhile now so that should give you an indication of whether it works or not. Millions! I can attest to lower level stimulants like over the counter pre workouts and protein supplements working.

Obviously yes.even if there is any debate, theyre illegal, they are percieved to and if they dont then why take them and argue the point.
They give you a huge boost in the gym where your fight prep is done, how can it be argued they dont.
Do they give you skills ?? No
Do they help in most adpects of trainibg ?? Yes
Its the whole point of using them

This. Steroids won't give you a jab, timing, ring awareness, and many other things that take years to perfect.

Why do you say that? I've competed at a decent level. Physiologically boxers would only have a relative VO2ma of 50-60ml.kg.min and physically they certainly aren't strong. Taking any sort of so called 'PED' isn't going to make any noticeable difference.

    1. Not really, it's just a basic strength endurance sport. Something like rowing would be tougher in terms of stamina and consistent low levels of power.

    2. Very few boxers are truly 'professional' in their preparation. It's not a sport with athletes at the pinnacle, you can be a lazy slob between camps and still get away with it if you're good enough. These guys aren't pushing their genetic limits in any sense.

Why do fighters take them then,is it just the buzz of being illegal and not being bothered about being labelled a drug cheat ?

A myriad of reasons, they think others are taking them, they believe it will give them some sort of advantage, culture, presssure, not being good enough etc. etc.
