Not a fan of Whyte has a fighter, however I don't think there's an issue with his power as such, I think his last three fights he's lacked a bit of self discipline and not picked his shots as well, instead putting more emphasis on the quantity of punches rather than quality, trying too hard to blow them out the ring. He's took that emotion from the build up into the ring imo.
He needs to stop it with the panto villain stuff and improve his game.

In defense of Whyte, since the AJ fight he's been in with 2 guys who hadn't been stopped and another who renown for showing a chin at world level.

Dave Allen, as Peter Fury once said... you need a bat to take that young man out. Also, off the back of the shoulder injury, Whyte needed rounds and to prove he can pace himself over the distance.

We all know how durable Chisora is, the man's proven it time and time again. Albeit, I thought Chisora won a close fight.

He wasn't in the best shape going into the Joshua fight, not that it would have changed the end result but I think that gave him the kick up the arse. Since then, he's taken his training and nutrition much more seriously, the publicity and $$$$ from the AJ fight obviously helping open doors career wise.

Gotta love the hate for this guy. Dave Allen clammed up and looked to survive against Whyte and managed to go the distance because he never endangered himself by throwing any shots. He threw shots against big bad Ortiz and got caught clean throughout and was never badly hurt. Same for Chisora vs Klitschko etc. Both have good chins as does Lewison who he stopped. This doesn't mean he's feather fisted.

Same people think Parker is a monster yet Whyte dispatched same opponents much quicker. Let's see how Whyte gets on against his next couple of opponents as he's supposed to be stepping up in class again.

I was waiting for the "but Whyte took out Minto etc much quicker than Parker" mention.

Well I'm glad to have obliged. Of course people's shared opponents are completely irrelevant. Good lad, thanks for reminding me.

What is the excuse for failing to put a dent in Ian lewison who said he was comfortable walking through his shots?

Whats the excuse for Lewison being so swollen afterwards that he looked like a ladyboy? He stopped Lewison and gave him a solid beating. He didn't KO Lewison but neither has anyone else. Lewison lost a split decision to Rossy who is Pulev's next opponent. Lewison is just trying to save face after a bad beating.

Lewison's face was a mess indeed, but not once was he staggered. If Joshua was in there with him he wouldn't have finished the fight standing.

We are talking about power, yet at the higher levels Dillian Whyte is yet to demonstrate it. Knocking out bum journeymen doesn't cut it, he needs to stand knocking out top opposition to be considered a power puncher/ko artist.

I agree that in a fight against AJ I would fully expect Lewison to be stopped far quicker. However this would likely be a British Stoppage wth Lewison on his feet after an admittedly quick and accurate flurry from AJ.

I'd expect it to be similar to Joshua - Cornish. a total mismatch. Whyte won't get past European level, and one of the main reasons is because of his lack of power.

Having seen Lewison fight I doubt he could
move quick enough to throw himself to his knees like Cornish did. As for Whyte's progress, the beauty of boxing is that time will tell.
