I'm in the minority but I think Ward and Rigo on the same card is good, assuming they're in with formidable foes. I enjoy pure boxers but they require good dance partners to be enjoyable.
Flores is 25-0 17KOs. He's young and comes to fight. He's also six inches taller than Rigondeaux. Flores claims he is going to pressure Rigs and be on his arse all night. Rigs on the other hand stated last year that he will be standing right in front of his opponents from now on. Should be interesting. Flores is better than Amagasa.
Come on man. A guy like Rigs isn't even going to take a 14 year old seriously, and he probably wasn't expecting the 14 year old to be going all out.
This means absolutely nothing. Flores isn't a top fighter. Amagasa is a journeyman. To add to that, Rigo was dropped by journeymen a number of times and has looked poor. He's also old. This is the sort of fight that'll take him OUT of the P4P list as others work their way in by actually fighting live bodies. The Donaire win was over 4 years ago. It wasn't even a Flyweight version (but still a brilliant version of Donaire) and Donaire was massively stylistically disadvantaged. Bum after bum for whatever reason whilst looking underwhelming...you're out of the list.
This is a mandatory, I think what is making him lose his p4p status is the top guys ducked him and instead of keep active or chase them up a division he has chosen to just do nothing.
You show more than a tad bit of hate towards Rigs with your exaggerations. and lies. Flores is a top 10 guy, he is not a bum, not P4Pr, but solid. It's not Rigs fault that Frampton, LSC, and Quigg are cowards. What Journeymen have dropped Rigs? Amagasa was no worse than the bums that Lomachenko fought between Russell Jr, and Martinez. Donaire wasn't a journeyman, neither was Cordoba, and the Cordoba thing was a glove touching canvas while off balance nothing more.
You show nothing more than bias, that's the problem and I'm not just giving my opinion in this regard, it's a brute fact. I actually enjoy watching Rigo. I see him differently to the likes of Lara who is a complete farce. Flores is NOT a top fighter. I don't care what rank he has - don't hide behind 'Top 10' terminology. It's a rubbish division as far as talent is concerned - there are no elites in that division or even anyone I'd call 'very good'. Yes, they are cowards and Frampton did not deserve FOTY because he ducked Rigondeaux (proof of my non-bias yet again). Amagasa, Marroquin, looking God awful against an unknown Journeyman. It was a legitimate knockdown and he was getting beaten up by changing his style to a more aggressive one and failed miserably at that...against CORDOBA. Lomachenko has had 8 fights, 2 against elite level fighters Walters and Russell Jr (Walters was seen as elite by the overwhelming majority before Loma made him quit), another against a consistent titleholder in the modern era in Martinez and about to have a 9th with a guy who you'd genuinely call a 'Top 10' in Jason Sosa. Levels. Overall, it's a DIABOLICAL fight in comparison to other guys competing for P4P spots and this has confirmed for me that Rigondeaux is indeed 10th on my P4P list rather than 9th.
Brutal fact? That would be that you are trolling smh. Flores is a top 10 fighter. You in trolling are simply trying to take away credit for the ensuing Rigs victory against a young lion. Leo Santa Cruz isn't that good. If you are considering him elite, then you can't disparage Flores. Glad you have some sense in agreeing that they are cowards. Rigs didn't look awful against either Amagasa or Marroquin. I'd say he looked uninspired against Marroquin, another short notice fight, where Rigs wasn't in the best of shape, and also going through managerial drama during that time. He never went down in that fight though. You are a liar as I stated. And Amagasa, he was schooling, until hurting Amagasa, and getting careless in trying to finish him off. So what, he got dropped by a guy seven inches taller and allegedly 20 pounds heavier in the ring. Rigs commenced to whooping that arse after that. I didn't see anything awful looking in that fight, except for Amagasa's face. And if a flash knockdown that entailed all of a glove grazing the canvas makes you feel good about your trolling, I guess have at it. Lomachenko has had like 15 or 16 pro fights, where he got paid. In those 15 or 16 pro fights he got raped by old man Salido. He has a great win over Russell Jr, and a shitty win over Walters, who was on the shelf for a year, and didn't even put in an effort to try and win the fight. If Lomachenko beats Sosa, that will be a much better win than Walters at this point. Walters was never elite. Beating down Donaire, and getting a draw against Sosa showed he was good, but not at the top level. But again you are comparing a guy who is a Bob Arum favorite. Notice, Lomachenko gets the preferred crude brawlers, while Rigondeaux was always matched with awkward fighters when he was with Arum. No face first brawlers for him to look good against, all weird match ups. And just so you know. Lomachenko moved up in weight, because he didn't want Guillermo "El Dedor De la cabaza" Rigondeaux to become his daddy.
Again more bias. I just skim read it and I'm appalled. I made a thread/post where I outlined clearly how Rigo ducked Loma. WSB is pro fights now? It's no different to the amateurs, just 2 extra rounds - same padded amateur gloves, same ref rules, standing 8 counts, all amateur boxers in the tournament etc. etc. It's easy to say after-the-fact that Walters was never elite, because people were thinking he was. ''Getting a draw against Sosa' again shows your pathetic bias. Why are you trying to blur me when I know all of the facts, idiot? He got dropped by a guy who despite all of his 'advantages' is a fringe cereal box belt contender at very best. Lomachenko beats these guys one handed literally, whilst looking like Roy Jones Jr. Many would call Leo Santa Cruz elite, in fact, most would call him elite. Ask them. Do it. 'Uninspired' is a pleasant way of putting it. Again, Flores is a diabolical opponent compared to what others are fighting to get themselves on the P4P list, let alone a higher position. Don't waste my time.
I'm pretty sure it's Rigo's. He could have fought Loma for a career high payday, at the same money Loma was making, and at the catchweight he wanted, but took a pass. And this despite not being able to draw flies to a sack of ****. Are you the guy who did the victimized Cuban fighter thread, where every Cuban fighter was the target of a massive conspiracy?
