The featherweight Division and welterweight Division were the 2 best Divisions p4p at the time he was fighting.

They had the best fighters .

Cotto , Marquez, Pacquiao , Maidana , Canelo Alvarez , De la Hoya, Corrales and Mosley were not good ?

Winning every round against Juan Manuel Marquez who gave Manny Pacquiao huge Problems 4 times and knocked him the f*ck out is not good ?

Winning nearly every round against Miguel Cotto is not good ?

Winning against Canelo Alvarez is not good , who was 13 years younger and had 44 fights at that time , only
one less than Mayweather ?

I never said that FM's opponents weren't top notch, But a win over a prime SRL is better than any win FM has. I did mention that FM is great did I not. I am in no way a FM hater. Just trying to be objective. In all seriousness, what win does FM have that tops Duran's win over SRL? If you can come up with one, I'll be the first to agree with you. As of right now I can't think of one.

 

Maybe that win against SRL is a bit better than the win from Mayweather against Pacquiao where actually
both were not in their primes anymore.

But that was only one win , Duran lost all his other fights against good opponents , he lost against de Jesus ,Benitez,twice against SRL,Hagler and a couple of other times.

His only good wins other than that one SRL win was against Buchanan, de Jesus 2 times and Iran Barkley who was
not really that good.

You have to look at his entire career and FM had better wins than Roberto Duran.

Also the lightweight Division was not really strong in Durans era.
Duran fought in a rather weak Lightweight Division.
