Stretching is incredibly overrated, it has consistently been shown not to help anything and can even be potentially detrimental.
An argument that someone became a champion without lifting isn't an argument at all, that just makes you look stupid.

I made a typo and said Lb instead of Kg yet you're deriding my knowledge. What exactly are your big three lifts? I bench way over 250lbs yet you think I actually meant 250lb deadlift when I originally posted that?

Probably just a weak ***** who's mad af. Post your lifts or physique or gtfo, I've forgotten more about this subject than you know. Bottom line is that 250kg deadlift is a **** poor lift for a 250lb athlete with the arm length of Tyson Fury. You're an absolute novice in this subject if you disagree with that fact.

Professional powerlifters? Are you ****ing ******ed? Yet another novice. Go and look up the records of British natural powerlifting Feds for each weight class and you'll see how common 250kg deadlifts are for light lifters. I go to a commercial gym right now with guys who don't know the first thing about lifting or dieting who are deadlifting 200kg+ comfortably. It is not an impressive lift for a 250lb man that is a fact. Go on YouTube and you'll see many light recreational lifters hitting that number and beyond.

You guys are questioning my knowledge on this subject because I made a typo. You just need to take one look at my barn door, bullet-proof back to realise that questioning my knowledge here is beyond idiotic.

Does it matter if it's a bad lift though? He won a world title - that's awesome!

No it doesn't. And this has nothing to do with boxing. I'm just pointing out that 250kg deadlift for a 250+lb athlete is **** poor. Idiots on here think it's some sort of miracle feat for a 160lber to do that. I hit a 200kg deadlift after one year of natural training and I weight about 75kg.

    That's cool.

I hit a 180kg deadlift after 2 years of training at 80kg...you're stronger than me :)

Yeah that's almost a triple bodyweight deadlift which no average gym goer is going to achieve in their life time. I got as high as 2.8 times my bodyweight before deciding it wasn't worth the risk of injury to go higher.

It's actually three and a half times their bodyweight, which is way more than anything you'd see in an average gym. I'm guessing Mr Fade hangs out with some hard core individuals to be seeing that on the regular.

People who do lifting as a recreational activity, yes. People who work a 9-5 job and then lift after work.

Yet Fury is a millionaire athlete who's daily regime when fighting is to eat and train and you think that a 250kg DL at 250lbs+ bodyweight with a 6'8" frame is impressive.

What is the world coming to when boxers lift weights. It goes against everything the old
time trainers used to preach. Next thing you know boxers will have SEX before a fight!
All the strength from their legs will be DRAINED!

That doesnt make sense at all. ironically you have a Yankees avi and was just watching the number ONE reason why Baseball players started breaking records on a special on ESPN and it wasnt steroids ...it was bc they started lifting weights and followed Bo Jackson regimine.....No serious or informed athlete in ANY sport will ignore utilizing some type of strength program to suit their needs and get the most out of the body....those who dont with MODERN proof that weights do in fact help are either lazy or just dont care to produce maximium results. the hard truth is the old time thinking is stupid!

The funny thing i told everyone this in the late 80's/ early 90's and ppl looked at me like i had two heads! :rolleye:
