This is a good post. This is one area Floyd gets full credit; I had him broke by 40.

Clearly, PBF would win because he'd wait a decade for Duran to get fat and slow, and then win with his lifetime supply of IV bags.

I don't think Duran wins 9-3. I think he gets the stoppage.

Duran could beat floyd but i could easily see floyd outboxing duran. If you are looking for a floyd killer its hearns.

Long reach. Great power, can box well. Floyds power would not stop hearns either

I think you have to favor Duran, at least in a first fight. Floyd's default style is moving backwards in straight lines and Duran would cut him off and he is the superior inside fighter.

Not really pbf can control range and dictate distance on Duran. People just don't realize that you need a long reach to beat pbf. This is one of the main reasons why I knew pac could never beat him. Pbf knows how to fight tall hes too good at it. A guy with as short as arms as Duran will not beat pbf. He can catch Duran with straight right hands coming in and move away. Duran will have to over extend too much against pbf which is a disaster against a sharp shooter like pbf who also holds the advantage in handspeed and reflexes.

Roberto Duran would brutalize Mayweather at 135. Probably stops him. That's the worst style match up Mayweather could have. He couldn't keep Castillo or Maidana off of him. Prime Duran, Pacquiao, or JCC would eat him alive. Although, Pryor or Armstrong could do that trick too.

You don't need a long reach to beat Floyd if you cut the distance. Duran is many times the fighter Maidana is and Maidana was able to exploit his same tendency to get backed up. Duran doesn't over-extend because he has great footwork and keeps his feet under him. In fact Duran was able to counter guys with a longer reach from the outside with timing, there isn't much of a disparity in reflexes at all.

Maidana didn't fight a prime Mayweather. To be honest, I don't know who would win at 135. Boxers like the Viruet brothers did okay against Duran and they weren't nearly as good as Mayweather. On the other hand, Duran at his best was a beast at 135. Tough fight for me to call.

I disagree there is a big disparity in reflexes between these two.

You must realize in order to beat PBF you need a jab in order to keep him honest and disrupt his rhythm. That is easier done to him if you have long reach if not he will have no problem taking your jab away and out manuevering you around the ring. PBF was 37 when he fought Maidana past his prime was cut for the first time in his career which bothered him early but he still won so I don't know what you're getting there. To be honest I think he may have even underestimated Maidana early in that fight to a degree. If he was prime he would have handled Maidana much easier.

PBF loves facing short armed fighters because it makes his job much easier of controlling range and distance. Duran will have to reach against PBF because PBF is the master of distance he will not simply allow Duran to be in range to set up his shots. PBF will hit Duran with the jab and jab to the body fight tall and either beat him to the punch from the outside as he comes in or counter him and move back out of range. Duran will be thrown off his game and would be reduced to feinting from the outside once he realizes the extreme advantage PBF has in hand speed and reflexes and that PBF can hit him easily when he tries to get inside and can move on his ass all night long to. Honestly I see this fight as a boring affair PBF will simply box and beat him on the outside and he will fight his fight unlike SRL.

I think Duran would win but he wouldnt school him. But he would definitely win, Jesus chavez gave mayweather troube and duran was bigger, stronger, harder punching better angles MORE FEINTS and harder to hit. I think Durans power in combination with his feints would win him the fight
