who would you say has the better resume? Not just the best win, but all things considered, who's resume is superior?

Holmes by a country mile. Besides Ali, Jimmy Ellis beat the same guys that Frazier did

I tend to agree, but some people rank that Ali win as the ultimate resume trump card.

It's really close, but Holmes' longevity edges it for me.

Love both these guys but my hearts saying holmes. Been at the top as long as he was takes some doing and second to Louis for title defence s sums up how good his resume is. But frazier s doesn't come far behind.

Nah, he didn't beat himself. The win over Ellis is Frazier's second best imo.

With the exception of the Ali win for Joe they're pretty much level in quality but obviously Larry takes it in quantity.

I would say Frazier's best wins were:

    TKO11 Buster Mathis
    W15 Oscar Bonavena
    TKO7 Jerry Quarry
    RTD4 Jimmy Ellis
    KO2 Bob Foster
    W15 Muhammad Ali

    IMO Holmes best:

    W12 Earnie Shavers I
    W15 Ken Norton
    TKO12 Mike Weaver
    TKO13 Gerry Cooney
    W12 Tim Witherspoon
    W12 Ray Mercer

Did Ellis knockout himself out in the 4th round? JK. I agree Holmes had the longevity and consistency and he had the overall better reign.

I'll take Frazier. Holmes was one of the great bum-seekers of all time and he accidentally stumbled into several resume builders like Weaver, Williams, and Witherspoon who never looked as good as they did during their title quests. Frazier gets points for intent and also knocking off the best of his time. Holmes loses points for somehow missing Coetzee, Page and Thomas and never rematching Williams, Weaver or Witherspoon.
