It's hard for me to pick. IMO Kovalev made the fight closer than it should the first time by playing Ward's dirtiness game, but even if he let's that out this time i think Ward can adapt even better this time, i don't know, this fight is as 50/50 for me as it was the first time.
I edged Kov with the win the first time around and with the knockdown being the jewel in the crown that they withheld from him viz the still very controversial decision .....I'm going with Kovalev by mid round KO this time around. Ward show heart and skills after Kov decided to cruise, and we all know how that ended for him If Ward wins this then as far as I am concerned he has done something that not many other boxers would of dared to do, and thats take on a guy who you know could beat you, but rather than hide in retirement Ward is making sure his legacy can never be brought into question , or be accused of ducking this one or that one. Respect!
Truly great interview. Ward is such an interesting man, I particularly enjoyed the bit about getting knocked down by Kovalev then getting back up and fighting back, awesome mentality, inspirational character.
Haters will hate. First Ward was too much of a coward to step in the ring with Kova, then he was a coward for not taking the rematch etc. I hope that win or lose, the decision is clear this time.
This. Kovalev's bad habit of standing straight up and not protecting his body is going to be major problem with infighters.
War SOG! Where are all his detractors now? All the drooling, no-teeth-having, poised-for-renewed-irrelevance, squatting, xenophobic morons that like to toss around words like "coward". Where did you all go?
I feel like ward knows what to do this time but at the same time Kovalev is coming with bad intentions.
If by "infighting" you mean wrestling, then you'd at least be partially correct. Face it, the only reasons Ward won were because he is willing to do what any real man wouldn't allow himself to do. No man would wrestle like that to win a boxing match, a real man can follow the rules and doesn't have to stoop that low to change the fight. Ward would have ****ed kovalevs **** if the fight took place in the nude, just to take a bit of an edge off of his punches. Despite all that Kovalev still won the fight.... The crappy judges changed it on paper though.
I didn't think Ward won the first one, although it could have gone either way. I feel Ward will win this one, again but more definitively. He's gonna roughhouse from round one, he already felts Kovs power.
You see, only racists think like this. If you are so in love with the whole Slavic thing, why don't you move to that sh*thole?
I actually live in one the finest Slavic lands. I have nothing to do with white American racists, they're trash.
I'm a Ward "detractor" but I'm happy if the rematch will indeed take place. That's the only thing I wanted from Ward really. I think every real boxing fan wants to see the rematch.
